Not too sure what your issue is but I can almost assure you less than $30 towards a via sata 6421 pci card will help you get that modded.

i'm having trouble flashing my 83850c (june,2009 dated so not the new one)
i'm using nforce + ck3 pro
its not my hardware as i've flashed other liteons and benqs

i've tried every combination possible:
open tray, close + turn off half way, turn on
open, turn off, close, turn on
using the eject button or using my hand
tray 2", 3", 4" etc. open
i've tried booting the PC with the connect kit on
i've tried doing the half open bit before clicking L083info

but i'm getting the same problem every time

when i open it fully and press ok, it instantly fails

exactly how can you tell if the drive is properly dumped? I just did 2 of these. everything went smooth but I still dont know if I wanna flash it yet. dump process is clean and I am pretty much ready to flash.

should I just get a samsung drive from ebay and test these out on that first?

Whats the date on the drive? Sounds like you got one of the bad ones that we are unable to currently read.

Most july ones can be flashed. The ones that can't do give you the "LO83info extraction Failed! " message. Seeing as that is the message you got and seeing as you have previously done one succsefully it must be one that cannot currntly be hacked.

All you can do is hope the MS left us yet another hole and hope the c4eva and friends find it.

I have trouble and I need help. First I explain what I did, what I have.

Win XP 32-bit
.net framework 2.0
Portio
VIA VT6421 (PCI-card)
CK3 Pro
Liteon 83850c from 2009-05
Jungelflasher 0.1.66 beta (49)

Dumping key worked fine aswell as creating the fw-file, but when it's time for erase it's trouble.

I disabled the VIA-driver in Device manager, removed the sys-file it from the system32/drivers-folder, enabled the driver, got the warning, rebooted, still got the warning. So far so good. Starting JF with CK3 off works fine, but if I power CK3 and then start JF, computer freezing.

I tried with different driver, still freezing. I have the CK3 Pro, but no serial cable. Please help out here how I can solve this. And I'm adviced not to use VIA-driver enabled when erasing. Catch is only possible computer to erase it on is this.

I hope you got all the information you need.

I can't edit so I have to make a new replay. Problem above solved. Most likely the problem was due to the fact the motherboard was VIA-based. With another motherboard, it worked first attemp.

Hey guys,
I've read through this thread and some other LiteOn threads here, so I hope this is the right place to ask this..  The thing is - I recently bought a 360 (Jasper) on eBay, and had it sent to a company here that does mods. I had asked the guy prior if they could mod any model/version, even the latest ones - to which his reply was "yep, we can mod ANY model".

Then, a few days later I get a phonecall from him saying "sorry dude, but your dvd drive is a LiteOn produced in June and there is no way of extracting the key from it yet"  mad.gif

I was like..WTF, you told me any version was flashable. He told me he could ship it back, or - that I could wait a little while longer for any solution to come around for the LiteOns. This was last week a few days before the 1.61 Samsung/BenQ fw came out.

But now I feel a bit stuck. I kinda want my box back but don't wanna wait forever for a fix, if one even comes ever.  dry.gif

Since reading here, it seems that it IS possible in some cases (?) to get the key extracted from the june-and-later-LiteOns and flashing them. Is this the case? If so, what are the odds of this being successful vs. the guy bricking my drive?  uhh.gif  (Btw, the guy is very legit and knows his stuff. Even did a reflow of my old 360 motherboard when the gpu died last year)

Should I tell the guy to check out this forum and try to flash it anyway? Or is it better I have him send it back to me for now, and see if a new LiteOn firmware / safer flash method comes around later this fall?

I appreciate all and any feedback - thanks!

Just bought myself an Elite with the Lite-On drive as part of a bundle from Sainsburys (UK).
It's the Pure and Lego Batman bundle, it's one of the newer Jasper boards without the second heatsink and it has the new drive in.

Manufacture Date: August 2009.

I've flipped the PCB over and it displays BS-2 on the back, which I've read some can be done. But I've tried it almost everyday on JF1.67 and as of yet I have nothing out of the drive just a fail message.

Guess I'll be waiting a while.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
