^yea man.

didn't want the 74xxx liteon anymore since u need a probe of course, wasn't gonna spend money on something i needed only once more less, i'm not a modder.

838 was the way to go for sure, i just can't believe these drives are barely getting on shelves in the usa and they're fully software dumpable.

it's good news for everyone that likes software methods, which let's face it is everyone.

I bet the guys in charge of anti-flashing techniques at M$ are pretty pissed right about now. I too am going to case swap my liteon until I get the newest as well. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Can someone explain to me why people still want to use DOS to flash?
Ive been flashing in windows ever since JF came, all models are flashable in windows.
I have not got my hands om any 8350 but I guess this also will be flashable in windows all work excepet the keydumping with freekey right?
anyone know if there will be a new JF where freekey is built in?

Re: JF Unstable for some

yeah i bricked 2 Hitachis, and a BenQ (was able to revive it in DOS) w/ JF. I dont necesaarrily blame JF, my PChad a lot of crap on it (I use it as an HTPC as well).

It wasn't until I sat down and rebuilt my PC and went back to  an XP SP3 nLited partition to make it a lean mean modding machine. + The latest JF (well before this 838c thing came about... 1.5.

Now I'm fairly confident in my system and JF. Modded 3 drives since then.

(edit)
no i lie. The BenQ was bricked due to FrostyTheSnowMan CD mod disc thing. I was able to fix that using iPrep and manual flashing.

I much prefer flashing in DOS if I have the option. I too have bricked 3 360's using windows methods. DOS methods have never let me down.

I was wondering if anyone knows if you can flash a 74XXX Liteon with the 8350 hacked FW, even though the hardware is slightly different.

Or would it be better to flash a BenQ or Sammy spoofed to Liteon 8350?

I just want to test out the dumped key before I flash the original Liteon 8350. I just killed a Liteon 8350 360 by not getting a good key dump and then flashing it straight to the original 8350 sad.gif

7xxxx and 8xxxx have same hardware, do everything like you would for a 8xxxx and JW will write the 7xxxxx as a 8xxxxx

you need the key and the inquiry.bin from the 8xxxx which can be built from modifed version of maximus reader that was released

Since the first JF ive modded a lot and i mean a lot of X360 never bricked any drive.
PC i installed with Winxp SP3 and only that no other useless progz, so its clean just for modding.
Next question, Ive personally sent back 13 RROD machines some with Benq drives and none had been reflashed to original.
I got the machines back with new mobo but the same Benq drive, played backups.
So how did they change the mobo they must somehow read the keys and wrote them to the mobo right?
Cause one can not simply swap mobo and drives without reading and writing the keys am I wrong?

I think it isn't clear on JF Tutorial the restore part of the "old" Hitachis.

JF aborting FlashIX if it detects  its modded should be enough.

what happened to all the people who said they would donate to the free version?

so pretty much everyone bitches they have to pay $42 which yes i thought was a little high in price, then say once something is free "we'll donate to that what we can" or " $42 is on its way" but yet how many of you have actually donated $.01?
so back to square one were people are so fuckin cheap that they can't donate a few bucks to make the people developing the software actually feel like it was worth their time and effort, so when the next release of what ever app is released and yuo're asked to pay again you should just  SHUT THE FUCK UP AND PAY because very few if any of you have donated i'm sure..

no i don't see any of the money nor do i wish to but it'd be nice if the dev's actually made a few bucks here and their making it worth their time and effort so when all the whinny little pricks come out they have some motavation. grr.gif
