Somebody Willing To Pay 42 Bucks To Decrypt This?

Nice!  I'll knock up a set of batch files then, so the keys are all stored in a nice backups\yyyyy\xxxxxxx folder structure like the rest of my batch files.  Useful for pro modders - well at least I find them useful!

I don't suppose this new decryption means LiteOn orig.bin files are a step closer, does it?

short, simple question that will save me a lot of headache:

What is the bare minimum that is needed from the 83850c drive before erasing it to guarantee not having a perma-brick if something goes wrong?

Just use the latet tools available for decrypting key and test a spare drive if possible

Exactly what Oggy said.  If unsure, get hold of a spare LiteOn (or at least one you've already saved the keys from!) and test using that first.

If the software whines about anything, such as keys not looking right, missing strings, etc., STOP.

For Your Information i have actually been following this thread and all the others about the new liteon and if you are having problems read the instructions then read them again until you understand it fully, that is what i was trying to get accross in my first post.

i too have flashed at least 300+ drives now and i find if i get stuck i read the info over and over again till i get it.

excellent...but my point is that im doing everything per instructions.....

tried 50 times till now, nothing....even tried to pull the tray some milimeter out, in, every position ofthe tray....nothing so far...

its not working....

i will try on another pc with the nforce chipset...thats the only thing left for me to try...after that im giving up

Anybody got the output from DosFlash 1.8?
I don't have a 83850C to test thing's with and am stuck now without those files.
Unless FirmTool gets updated while I'm waiting

I have, it works 100% flawlessly.  I actually couldn't get it to work using Windows based tools, perhaps a PortIO compatibility issue with my specific chipset.

I can't believe that they are still trying to sell the service for 42$ i wonder when they will take that down. I guess there are still people out there that do not know any better and just pay it.

had to return a couple systems but finally got a 838, but i'm all spoofd up now with my benq.

i know it's been said many times by now, but major credit to those who made this dump method possible.

all that foundmy crap was ridiculous, not to mention some more less condoning it or saying some crap about we'd never have free method, pretty lame.

anyway again, hats off to the "real" sceners.

Did you buy, open, close up, then return?  You did this until you got the newest drive? haha
