I said and said and said that the possibility exists that by releasing this method you might shoot yourselves in the foot. Well, at this time and point, it appears that you've taken your foot off....but not with a gun. With a Axe. Just because the apple fell to the ground because the coyote nipped at it change the fact that it fell off the tree.

That's quite a metaphor! Can you give us any details as to what exactly went wrong with this last release? What went so bad that it would cause them to not even try if a new drive is released?

I know precisely how much money was donated since the start of this process to the JF team. Lets just say you couldn't buy you and your girlfriend a really nice dinner with it.

Lol, where do you take your girlfriend then ? I don't know, but even from my little donation you could both get a nice to thing to eat AND drink in my town.  I agree most people say more than they give, but don't overdramatize. I refuse to believe JF team got that little in total. (and if they do, a lot of (especially pro) modders should be embarassed to hell and back  grr.gif

Sorry guys. Im desperately trying to salvage things, but I think its at the point of no return. Fucked. really really fucked.

So be it. If the iXtreme project is really abandoned, will the source/ways/(name of) tools be released ? It's of no use to TEH GODS anymore anyway then ? This to help another team take over ? Or are those guys really gonna set the house on fire ?

I think they/he is angry because they said there would never be a method for this drive. Then geremia and max release one to the public.

And also every one saying the they were the ones behind foundmy.com
I dont know if they were or not myself but theres good reason on both sides of the story that I wont get into.

I also hate to say this....but....

There's a good chance that because of all the drama, the politics, and the internal dissension about all of this, that there might not be another IX released for the next drive.

well how many times have we heard the "UNHACKABLE" and "IT WILL NEVER BE DONE" arguments..and as for desperately trying to salvage things you where the architect of most of the things you are trying to salvage..again as i said before this is not a personal thing against any 1 person but observations..

you had EVERYTHING you wanted within your grasp..you didnt want to release the crypto and encouraged everyone to use that gad awful site at $42.. you had 99% of that sites profits in your hands with ixtreme..by holding that back you could have forced foundmy to drop prices or lose thousands daily..no-one would need a key without an ixtreme to insert it into..just those 2 facts are probably what started the whole conspiracy theory and continues to do so to this day

anyway this is just going over old stuff again..the scene will live on and there will be new cryptos to crack. new drive manufacturers to crack and new revisions to crack..there will be web sites to bring down and individuals brought to task..that is why this scene is great.
by the people, for the people.

Or the exact opposite.

Thats all you needed to swap the drive out.

iXtreme for 83850c being held back would mean yet more cost to the end user.

so when we donate, does any of it go to c4e?  or is it exclusively to fund the social engineering that went on to decept foundmy.com?

So it was OK to the team when foundmy was (and is) charging $42, but this free solution is a reason for the team to quit?

My belief is,

All you guys that bashed / accused  THX, you accused the very hand that's fed you for so long.

When aiming these accusations at THX, you accused every member of THX. This includes c4.

I was very annoyed people suggested we (TJF) were involved in anything so I can only begin to imagine how pissed off c4 was considering the amount of accusations * the time he has put in to giving all you want for free.

Now, there are no Live Logs, this, sadly seems to be the beginning of the demise.

<sarcasm>
Great Work guys!

And by "you", you mean foundmy. If they had not laid out the blueprint saying "Hey there's a totally new way to extract the key that even someone as simple as me can decode" then there would be no freekey or openkey.

If foundmy had even half a brain, they would have kept the new extraction method secret. They could have said "Hey we've got some really expensive equipment that we can use to extract your key, but you need to send me the drive".

So ultimately, it was the THX leak, intentional or not, to foundmy that directly caused all this.

First time poster in here... LONG time flasher (I wont call myself hacker - bcause I dont look at the code or decrypt crypto).

I have always sat back and understood everything that was said by the guys that made this happen - the turotials were good and everyone kept up on it and did a great job.  I even made a donation or 2 now and then.

But this has gotten ridiculous and I had to create an account to login to say this....

USE YOUR HEAD PEOPLE - if this is the end of the scene - its because someone is PISSED you rained on their parade and made their money making solution free...  Now who is threatening to not continue the scene?  Who is saying its not going to happen?

Dude as soon as the solution becomes free this dude Iriez is like, in this thread for that matter,  "We knew it would be just a matter of time - happy hacking".. then yesterday posts crap yet again about the scene dying..  not once have I heard of any hacker charging another hacker for a solution

Also Oggy, TGF, THX, TGIF, BYOB, PMS, and what other acronyms are out there... AGAIN USE YOUR HEAD PEOPLE - if they stop development - it was THEM who finally decided to devise a way to charge...

Instead of demanding donations or stopping development - they tried to lie to you through this foundmy because they knew this scene was founded on free  - but they want paid...

I dont really blame them - but just ask for the loot - dont scrog the people that would actually pay you

OK im done - one more statement...

BOTTOM LINE - if they (xbins, JF, THX, IX, wtf else ever) stop development - its because they tried to indirectly charge 42 bones for something they took pride in being free.. so at the end of the day they are punks

Worst case scenario guys - for those of you that dont code the hardware or firmware - youll have to wait a year or so before another project gets underway then youll be hacking again.. its cyclical

EDIT: Abuse Removed
