Why did you include XtractorReader v2.7 instead of v2.91?

Here is the updated FreeKey v1.2 mirror with everything included as well as v2.9 of Maximus Xtractor Reader as pointed out by Geen Rommel

P.S. It was 4 in the morning when I made the original package found a couple posts back and didn't notice I included the older version of Xtractor Reader. I apologize for that mistake. This version has all updated software. ENJOY!  biggrin.gif

So now with this Freekey 1.2, using the /OF command, we can skip the Xtractor Reader step, right?

A LITTLE HELP NEEDED PLEASE (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

First of all a big thumbs up to all who were involved in cracking the 83850c!!

I have created my Lite_CFW by following the steps below

-used lo83info_32.exe to create my xxxuniquexxx.bin
-used freekey xxxuniquexxx.bin /OF to get:
         - xxxuniquexxx.bin.key
         - xxxuniquexxx.bin.inq
         - xxxuniquexxx.bin.out
*Note at this pont is said "Dedication string missing! sure to continue? Y/N
I just chose yes.

I renamed:
         - xxxuniquexxx.bin.key to xxxuniquexxx_key.bin
         - xxxuniquexxx.bin.inq  to xxxuniquexxx_inq.bin

I used JungleFlasher 1.65
         -Opened target FW the ix16-liteon838
         -Chose 'Manual Spoofing'
                           - loaded xxxuniquexxx_key.bin for the key.bin
                           - loaded xxxuniquexxx_inq.bin for the inquiry.bin
         -Saved the file as Lite_CFW

I then used Jungle Flasher to:
         -Lite-On Erase
         -Write
*Note it seemed to write Banks 1-3 OK, but it always said Write Verification Failed

When I put it back in the 360 it keeps coming up with the "to play this game insert it into an xbox 360 console" error.

Also I have tried spoofing Samsung firmware to Liteon 83850C with the xxxuniquexxx_key.bin and xxxuniquexxx_inq.bin and then writing it to a Samsung, but it gives me the E65 error??

Can anyone suggest where I have gone wrong?
Is it supposed to say "Dedication string missing! Sure to continue? Y/N" when you use FreeKey?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the dedication string is missing that means the dump off the drive has failed to get your key.
I hope you didnt flash your orignal drive, if you did you just lost the dvd key and now its just a expensive dvd player.

You should of read more instructions, Its been mentioned heaps of times if that string isnt there it will give wrong key.

Let me get this straigh.

So we can now dump the "file.bin" from the Liteon drive ver FW7XXX and FW8XXXX.

Use freekey on this file and get a key ??

No more need to open the drive and read it from Tx Rx ??? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) No need using probe?

If this is possible in FW8xxx then it must be possible in FW7xxx (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Waiting for Junleflasher that suport dumping FW8xxx and automatic geting the key.

Here's a small batch script for use with freekey 1.2
Save it to the same place as FreeKey or edit the path to FreeKey.
Save the batch file as "GetBins.bat" or what ever you like, just make sure it has the .bat extention.

You just drag the output .bin from lo38 onto it and it will run FreeKey and rename the .key and .inq that are output by FreeKey so you can just load them direct into JF.

CODE
@ECHO OFF
FREEKEY %1 /OF
IF EXIST %1.key COPY %1.key key.bin > NUL
IF EXIST %1.inq COPY %1.inq inquiry.bin > NUL
IF EXIST %1.out DEL %1.out
IF EXIST %1.key DEL %1.key
IF EXIST %1.inq DEL %1.inq
PAUSE

Props to Geremia and Maximus, you beat me by a few hours, I'd just finished writing a app that parsed the .out and generated a key.bin and inquiry.bin.

Just out of curiosity (I haven't come across one of these drives yet), does DOSFLASH support erasing & writing 83850c drives?

If so, then it'd be nice if Freekey generated the full suite of files (inquiry, identify, key, dummy) or at least dummy.bin, so that FirmTool and DOSFLASH can take it from there and we have a nice, reliable, quick-to-boot DOS-based method again.

I don't know if this is possible as I don't know if enough info is buried inside the lo83info output file, but
I'd happily knock out a set of easy-to-use batch files like the ones I've done for Samsung, BenQ and LiteOn 7-series, if this happens.
