personally, I dont charge very much at all to flash drives $15 for flashing and $7 for upgrade.

But even at the wholesale price for the service ont he 85830C it is far too much.

$5 to $10 would be very reasonable, but his price is his price, I wont buy into it at all and I have heard from many others they wont either.

But this is our choice, you have the choice to pay what you want and what you dont want

For now this is the only solutions so you either pay it or you wait

People pay apple a premium for their product, people pay premium for dell service, so why not pay a premium for this?

Either way I have a question. OK lets say i do this, what would i do with the key?

1.) How would i go about spoofing?
2.) Even with the key wouldn't the current jungleflasher just leave the firmware version as 7XXXX lite-on instead of the new 8XXXX?
3.) Having the key is good but what is there to do with the key if none of the tools out there can truly replicate the new drive?
4.) Is there any new commands or anything besides the key changes in this new firmware?

These are the questions I pose and should be the real questions being asked not complaints about a price. Weather or not a person/company are jerks is irrelevant. Other questions that should be posed: How are they doing it, and why can we not replicate this process?

the reason most people arent asking those questions is becuase its pointless..i certainly am NOT going to pay $42 for the key so i dont give a s**t how you spoof firmware or wether jungle flasher will support it..i shall leave that up to the poor poor people who have no alternative but to pay..

i'm so glad i brought a few old rrod models to repair for spares
just like most other scenes it ends with money
this fix will be free at some point its just when not if!
most likely once the money has been made and a new model has hit retail boxes

you cant blame em for wanting to cash in but lets not cover it up with the whole legal side its all about making money and with the price tag its clear they thought a price around then one retail game mark will sell with what the key offers rather then what you get

Is funny how most people here are crying about the service charge foundmy is asking, but when you charge people to mod there system is the same crap.

Just cause people in the scene do this for fun and free dont mean that allways they need to deliver yeah it sucks and we either have to pay 42 to get the key or not pay and have nothing.

It's not the same. I charge people for the complete works. I take their xbox apart, flash the drive, put it back together and show it works. I tell them how to back up their own games and even give them a free verbatim to test it at home. And, if I screw something up in the process, I'll be the one paying for a new xbox.

What foundmy does is expecting you to still do all of the above, but send a piece of the dumped firmware to them, you pay them and they send you back the key, so you can still go about the process of spoofing another drive.

Now, if foundmy released an application and sold that for.. I don't know 89usd or something, I could live with that. It would be a onetime investment. But paying 42usd for a key on a modjob I charge 30usd for ? No thank you.

i dont see a problem rewarding those who have worked hard on this project. I can only imagine how complex of an algorithm is being used. My only concern is now that there is a site charging money explicitly for this service it will be shut down in the future similar to DirecTv sites in years past. Hopefully the site can be trusted and reliable.

Because if he did that, he would be payed at most 10 times for it and it would be cracked and on torrents in hours. Now that he doesn't have to release the software, he is guaranteed $42 for every person that really wants to hack their drive (which will be a lot more than 10 people).

Never charge for software intended to be released for pirates.
