I thoght Team Hyper X had a "workaround" which they would release if all other methods fail?
Is this the "foundmy" the workaround or will there still be other methods avaliable?

DO NOT USE THEM.  They are scammers.  I got scammed and got my money back through credit card dispute.  Do a google of them, lots of complaints.

example:

http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/...my-c147971.html

many many more.

The guy that runs it is a complete scammer, took my money, no comunication, never even sent out a damn thing.   Filed a detailed report with VISA so they are aware of how bad they are.  IT was only 80 bucks (had orderd a dvd drive) but i got it back in full , if not 60 days later.

Avoid at all costs, and good luck ever getting a reply from the dick.

People in this scene are too used to handouts these days...

I think that if Team HyperX has flat-out TOLD you that an 83850C key dumping/decypting utility is not going to be released (from what I have gathered from Iriez's posts), then we should at least be happy that we even have the Foundmy.com solution.

Perhaps a key dumping/decrypting tool will be released or 'leaked' in the future, but until then we should be happy to have this option available. $42 is NOT that much money considering the value of knowing your key on an Lite-On 83850C machine.

After all, without using the current Foundmy.com solution you are screwed otherwise. (for the moment)

Pretty obvious money grab if you'd ask me.

Think about this, every single 83850C with the key retrieved = $42.

$42 x hundreds of people a day = $thousands.

They will be rich buggers in no time.

I'm not surprised that the team has now turned to money, after all.

I wouldn't have minded if it was between $5 to $12 USD, $42 is nothing but greed, sorry I had to say it.

deary deary me..
even though this drive appears to be hacked it may as well not be. it would just make me not bother and be a bit more careful with my games so as not to need backups.
things are great when they are free. it makes people feel part of a community. like an open source hacking community. that has just been sadly torn away from us to a single allmighty power. this usualy leads to bad things and corruption. the reason team hyperX allways got praise and support was due to their belief in open hacking..

i have just had 2 callers come with the new drives and i have turned them away and also told them that i no longer mod drives. if they want to pay a single company the money then good luck to them but i refuse point blank. i hope they find someone willing to do it for them but i'm out of it. i will continue to read through the posts and watch the corruption and bitching start..i fear that this is the beginning of the end of free hacks and where the gredy business men and organised crime lords take over :-(

if i was iriez i would actualy stop praising them and actualy stop the releaseof ixtreme for the drive till they drop their prices..they will sell a limited few for drive replacements only

Is it possible that team HyperX already has this solution down and ready to go but cannot release it to the pubic for fear of legal implications. However if that method was to say "somehow get leaked" on some torrent site or whatever without the team hyperX tag being branded to it, that would be okay. Remember, this site only stays open because all topics and discussions are above board, piracy etc isn't tolerated. If you read between the lines of Iriez's comment thats what i get. Of course I could be way off the mark here, but its just something to think about.

I knew before i even got to this thread, that these guys were not going to be liked very much. $42 what a rip. I would rather wait months if had one of these drives then pay that.

[quote name='|GateKeeper|' date='Aug 4 2009, 12:14 AM' post='4514642']
What I know is that the coder of the software is introduced to the jungle flasher team by Foundmy.com. supposively he went to foundmy.com and made this offer, and Foundmy.com accepted it. based on what I know the software will take the information that is pulled from the liteon drive, decode it and then give you your key. Also foundmy.com has made a BIG investment on this project to be they only one able to have this service. So in my opnion unless the coder gets bought out there is no free service coming out anytime soon.

Hit the nail on the head.
