Sorry but i doubt that foundmy would have the capital to purchase the sole rights to this 'software'. We are assuming foundmy have the software, they may not even have that, they may be sending the info to a 3rd party. Hence the reason things are not instantaneous.

It may be that it is not instantaneous because it takes some serious number crunching to crack the key each time...

On the site it says 2 reviews. When you click, all you get to see is :
I would think, with this much exposure, there would at least be a 100 reviews or more... or at least 1...

I'm not sure there are many people who are buying (or willing to do it) until the ixtreme will be released...

How many drives now have come out that were supposedly unhackable? Less than 2 years ago I would say it would be a safe bet that the amount of people who coul, or did, flash systems were only 20% of who can, or does, now. There may be people who charge $75-$100 to flash, but there are also people who charge as little as $15 on sites that are easy to find.  Before to flash a samsung 28 you had to do extra steps, to flash a hitachi 79 you had to do many extra steps, and even the first lite ons were by soldering. Now one program can do steps all at once and a probe totally subtracts soldering. Everyone has two choices, either pay now or wait to see if it becomes free or gets much cheaper. Someone charging the amount they are currently is no different than when Plasma or LCD televisions came out and they were butt arse expensive, but now they have come down in price. What that site is offering is the first chance anyone has produced to get what others want, supply and demand. No different than people charging $100 for a flash and $40 per new game back in the day, or now if they are just greedy and assholish.

The whole point is that there is nothing in this world that only one person can do forever that no one else can do, there is nothing in this world that multiple people can do, in time, that still is expensive in whatever field the situation is. In other words if this is the new way flashing goes than someone else will figure it out and charge less, then someone else will do the same, and so on and so on. What is the most important thing surrounding all of this information is this one question,

How patient can you be?

The site owner has to approve the reviews first, so we won't see any negative reviews.
I guess any reviews that will be posted are created by himself tongue.gif

Patience is key here. Give it time, a free method will be released. Everyone just needs to settle down and chill. watch some TV, get a good nights sleep and everything will seem better. given time a free or alternative method will come.

Just relax, if one person figured it out, that means someone else can figure it out too. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

and when the shops get raided and closed down (this WILL happen) and have no form of income and need to resort back to donations i dont think anyone would trust them or give them cash again..i just wish they would have ASKED for donations as all this would have been avoided and i have no doubt they would have made a lot more than the income they are going to get for a few weeks of a site no-one trusts..

a group with no income and no purpose and no trust may as well not be a group anymore.
mind you i think they will have bigger things to worry about now. if they thought the courts came down on the owners of the pirate bay hard that wont be nothing to what bill gates lawyers will press for and when the worlds richest man wants something done he usualy gets it lol

I wouldn't be surprised if after being let trade for a while to get enough evidence logged, (i.e. MS employees sending them dumps and getting keys back) that they are raided.

This from Associated Press today via kotaku:

There are some people who modify their own consoles so they can play imported games. That’s fine. There are others, however, who do so for reasons of piracy, and commercial gain. Those people are not fine.

27 year-old Matthew Crippen, who is a student at California State University, sounds like he might (might!) be one of those not fine people. He was released on Monday night on bail facing charges relating to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act; specifically, that he has modified “Xbox, PlayStation and Wii consoles”. If he’s found guilty, he could face up to ten years behind bars.

Since he was arrested after an investigation from the Electronic Software Association - serious stuff - the chances of him having modded the consoles just so he could play Super Dimensional Fortress Macross on the PS2 seem slim.

OC man charged with modifying video game consoles
(AP) – 11 hours ago
LOS ANGELES — A Southern California college student has been arrested on federal charges that he illegally modified video game consoles to enable the machines to play pirated video games.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says 27-year-old Matthew Crippen was released Monday night after posting $5,000 bond.
The California State University, Fullerton student who lives in Anaheim is accused of modifying Xbox, PlayStation and Wii consoles in violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents got a tip from the Entertainment Software Association and searched Crippen's home in May.
He was indicted on two counts by a federal grand jury. Crippen faces 10 years in prison if convicted and is scheduled for arraignment on Aug. 10.
Attempts to reach Crippen for comment were unsuccessful.

I have a feeling the site won't be up that much longer. And it certainly seems to me that offering an illegal service for pay would have harsher consequences than offering an illegal service for free.
I'd certainly be more concerned about your freedom now that you're receiving money, Iriez. Same with the everyone else involved in the process. How much do you think has been spent developing methods to trace money to combat terrorism?

lol?

Yea, im recieving "big bux no whammies" ...haha.

You people are great smile.gif I have not seen a dime out of this, and I sincerely doubt I ever will unless I start my own shop. The same people who are crying about money are saying that im supporting this because of money? How hypocritical is that.

I support this because it is a mean's to a end. Nothing more.

When the waves are crashing down on you, you hold onto whatever piece of wood you can find, even if its a splinter. Thats what im doing.

sounds to me like there is a lot of sh*t happening behind the scenes that we are unaware of ?

nfo from IX 1.6 83850c

Team HyperX Presents IXtreme 1.6 firmware for Liteon 83850c drives
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

IXtreme fw for Liteon 83850c drives!

Happy third anniversary for the xbox360 fw and despite all attempts we are still here, flashing fw, after several ban waves and several drives including the mighty LITEON we have triumphed! It is a testiment to all involved on how far we have come and the massive teamwork it has required. Thanks go to all involved and here's to the next three years!

At the moment the only way to get your key data is through the foundmy.com method. At this time we have no alternative solution. Props to foundmy for cracking the key encryption and providing a solution. Team HyperX will keep working to find a alternative solution!
--------

-Added Support for LiteOn 83850c Drives.

-Strict Wave 3 compliance! hybrid (modified disks) will not boot!

-Strict drive speed compliance - 12x only for game discs!

-Support for SS V2!

-Integrated 0800 for game dumping including SS v2!

-Full support for all known game exceptions! eg ddr etc!

-One shot boot mode! - allows a one off boot of gamedisc without -stealth/partition checks (will still use stealth), use activate.iso disk to activate each time!

-Support for easy drive key/version info cmd, same as liteon!

-Strict stealth/wave checking, one shot boot mode will boot wave(x)!

More Info
---------

Strict Wave 3 compliance means wave 3 games will only boot if they have correct PFI/DMI/SS and timestamp for wave 3

Strict drive speed compliance means games will only boot if drive is set for the initial speed of 12x, any modification of this make games fail to boot

SS v2 suports multiple timing samples for challenges type 5 and 7 , stroing them in the SS. This is a pre-requiste for SS v3 which has support for the so called AP2.5 check. Since this has never been used or may never be used by MS we will adopt a wait and see approach and continue to monitor for its usage.

With drive in Windows mode (Tray half open on powerup) 0800 mode is activated allowing easy dumping of game disc including SS v2. In this mode the drive is also able to output drive key, fw version and drive type by using a simple custom inquiry command.

Game exceptions are integrated in the fw for games that do not comply with the strict wave checks but are legitimate. These are Dance Dance Revolution Universe, Stoked, Ping 17 disk, afro samurai

One shot boot mode allows you to boot a Wave X or non stealth game by using the activate.iso disk as a flag. Just insert the activate disc and the next disc inserted will boot without any strict checks. This will still utilise full stealth if available. As soon as that disc is booted the flag is cleared, and you will have to re-insert the activate disk again to enable one shot boot. As always use with caution.

So HyperX are claiming that foundmy cracked the encryption and they have nothing to do with it. I highly doubt foundmy did anything useful, they can't even put together a website properly.
