Help! Bricked Ts-h353b
« on: February 03, 2020, 05:22:00 PM »

I just tried to flash my TS-H353B (SH-D163B) but I accidentally used the wrong firmware (used the SH-D163A instead). Now Windows is having trouble detecting the drive and its looks royally bricked. Is there any known method of reflashing the drive to the proper firmware? Thanks

Did you save the orignial fw? If you did you'll be fine.

What method did you use for dumping original FW and to flash new FW?

yeah, it seems that you know how to create a hacked fw, now just search for how to use dosflash and you'll be fine (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

good luck

got it working. had previously tried dosflash but it was not detecting my drive after i had mis-flashed it. to get it to properly detect the drive, i put plugged in a working drive atapi drive onto the port of my via controller and ran dosflash. i swapped to my mis-flashed ts-h353b drive. dosflash was then able to find the drive with the junky firmware and i was able to reflash it.

thanks guys.
