LiteOn 83850c Solution
« Reply #75 on: July 14, 2009, 06:22:00 AM »

Hi I'm a modder living in Sweden. I just got a new version in a store bought Xbox 360 Elite. The LOT number was 0922X (yes, it had the X right after the number like that).

Hoping someones attention will be caught since they said they'd release the flash method once the model was store bound.

I don't have the lot numbers (or the xboxs anymore). They were arcade machines, premods that i sold.

Once again, If anybody in the USA has these drives, I would like to get ahold of a few of these drives for experimenting. If I extract the DVD key from the drive I would be happy to give it to you.
Thanks.

??? You cannot extract the key. Work goes. No updates. We will make the method public when the market is saturated.

Patience People, Team Hyper Will Release in good time, their strategy is tight as they should not release it until the drives are widespread thus giving microsoft little time to change the firmware again

Major cred to team hyper, without them we would all be screwed

I have 1 of these drives and I'm happy to wait. I think it's a really smart move to do what they are doing. Well done to the HyperX team, you deserve many accolades love.gif

Hmmmm.  I've done a few premods lately in the UK with a console manufacturer date of May/June 2009.  I've also done a few repaired ones from MS.  I've had probably 5 or 6 read the drive key in jungle flasher but fail to create a good dummy.bin file.  Is this the problem you get with these drives or is nothing extractable from them?

By the way with these few drives I had the problem with I assumed that I'd temporarily lost the connection when probing the point on the underside of the drive so I tried again.  Suffice to say I could never get it to give a good dummy.bin.  On flashing the drives after getting this issue they still work fine.

74850C A0/A1 will dump correctly in JF.
74850C A2 will say `possible` incorrect serial data, as some A2 drives have the serial information some do not (or so I've been told). Therefore the debate is if it wasn't there for extraction should it be patched in. Its the same board and that, and becasue some drives dump it wont have changed location.

83850c won't dump at all.

Feel free to correct me anyone. I could be totally wrong.

Correct. At least not by any traditional means. A new method will come out in due time on this new drive.

Wrong. 74850C A0A2 April 2009 Dumped with jungleflasher for me on a 512mb on-board jasper arcade. dumped in windows with jungleflasher1.64, files copied to iprep009 usb drive, then flashed in dos as im not happy flashing in windows when you dont have to.

whats the problem people are having? at what stage do people have problems? some1 explain what they are doing and take it from there maybe.

Very strange

I have dumped & re-flashed around 40 or so 74850C A0A2 drives, none have any issues at all using latest version of jungle flasher combined with xtractor v1.2 and spear addon, never fails to get correct keys for any drives other than the very new 83850c which I am beginning to see a few now mainly arcades purchased from Game, Argos, Gamestation in the UK.

It is very common for the A2's to not have serial data. And to the poster above, he said MAY or MAY NOT have missing serial data. You took his comment out of context.

Thank goodness for the excellent find on the physical rebuilding of serial data smile.gif Lets hope that if they remove those stickers, that they atleast create another method. The smartest way would be for them to keep the same setup, but to create a algorithm for the data on stickers. That would prevent us from manually rebuilding, and make it very difficult for us to crack.

ilPOZ: As I stated directly above your post, we will release when the market is flooded with drives. We did the same for the original liteon, and we will do it with future version's aswell. We must aim for maximum penetration. You must think of it like a government or business. You may personally be subjected to failure/waiting, but the overall picture is positive.
