No.  The older lite-on requires you buy an extra piece and then open up the drive.  How is that easier?

I agree, I am pretty sure the same method can be used but I need someone to confirm it.

i really hope they bring this easy software method over to the  original liteon.


regarding the 838 saturation, i looked around on here aswell as 360drives.com havin seen someone in canada (im in usa) had a 838 liteon in a 0922 lot console and some on here with june made consoles having the 838's i thought i'd get one of these in a higher lot console for sure.

sadly i was very wrong and prolly have some bad luck too i guess.

i got a lot 0924 made on june 11th and guess what was inside ?

an april 2008 74xx original liteon, i'm like fuckin hell.


the "all june made 360's having the 838's" definitely isn't true.


really pissed off at this point, i'm at strike 2 now but back goes this and my search will continue.

i think looking for a 0925 or higher would yield a 838 liteon for sure, for everyone waiting is the best thing u can do at this point if u want the new liteon, since i guess around here they really are hit and miss.

I just opened up mine today that I got back from repair and it had the old lite on drive  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
I am waiting for them to release the same method for the older lite on.

Not yet. It'll return zero key string. If you spoof your drive with that string your Xbox 360 will not run original games and/or backups anymore!

Does anyone find one guide for dummies and if anyone try to take the 3 files(Inquiry.bin, identify.bin and key.bin) with the simple classic way(Except R707) to tell us if the 2 of the 3 files(Except key.bin) dump it correctly or not.

And is there any other way to do the dump thing WITHOUT the hex editting part.

openkey v0.2 by seacrest creates the edited hex file (the bin.key file) for you ready for it to be imported via jungle flasher.

im not sure about the inquiry and identify yet...

still with any of these keys etc spoof to another drive first to check it before you erase your liteon

Does the new dosflash 1.8 dumping correctly all the drives including the new liteon-83850c with unscrabled key.bin or dummy.bin?

A friend of mine got his 360 back from repair in July and his lite-on
came with a benq vad6038 tray, we thought we could flash it until we

Also, he sent his console in b/c the H/ANA was going out and he was
experiencing severe artifacts but they replaced the (working) drive anyway.
