Windows 2000
« on: September 11, 2004, 02:48:00 AM »

This might have been asked and covered a million times but I searched it in the forums and tried to do some reading and I couldn't find anything.

What are the major setbacks in running windows 2000 on the xbox?  Is it a performance issue? The xbox kernel is already based on the windows 2000 kernel, or so I am led to believe anyway, and I sure have seen windows 2000 running pretty darn snappy on systems alot slower than the xbox .  I could understand the memory being an issue, 64 megs would cause it to chug, but now that they have the realitively easy upgrade to 128 megs, what would the major difficulties be in having windows 2000 run without having to emulate it?

I wonder how things would be different if some dude offered a buttload of cash to get windows 2000 running like they did for linux?

Or else I could just be retarded.

and for the orginal Q. you cant do it. unless you steal the msft code for w2000 and recompile a xbox copy it wont happen. google it for more info. or just look all over this thread.
