Changing The Firmware Speed 2x 5x 8x

How would I go about changing the firmware speed 2x 5x 8x on a ben-q or lite-on with a hex editor live is not a issue for me         can someone please help me out

Just use 1.41 for BenQ drive with whatever speed you like but you will have to patch your wav3 games with the patcher. takes seconds to do, as you say, you dont use live anyway so what difference does it make, however im sure there wasent a multi speed firmware out for lite-ons so you would be better with a BenQ.

I understand that its not recommended but would hate to flash back and forth the 0800 f/w every time I need to make a backup just thought I would kill two birds with one stone  

If anyone can give me a link were the drive speed is located on the f/w it self that would be much appreciated (IMG:style_emoticons/default/love.gif)

You can't change the speed of a Lite-On firmware, it's not possible. End of story..
