Bricked Benq.. Anyway To Bring It Back?
« Reply #15 on: June 17, 2009, 02:23:00 PM »

i can run dosflash from the disc i made.. but the thing is its not dumping my firmware (and in turn im not able to flash).. i put the port as the same one that works in JF (0xfdd0) and it wont read it.. im thinking dos might not be picking up my pcmcia card..

is there a way to like see if the drive is detected when using dosflash?

It either shows up in the program, or doesn't!

I dont understand you people... after you use a bad setup, wierd setup anyways..    you wonder why doesnt it work...      grab a friend`s pc ...and use an onboard sata with jungleflasher... problem solved

My setup works fine.. have flashed a bunch of drives (benq, ts) and only had a problem with these 2.. and i believe the problem was with JungleFlasher as it would freeze during flashing.. only JF would freeze not my computer..

Your freezing of JF seems like the problem I was seeing with my onboard SATA controller with VIA drivers installed. When I would remove the power to the DVD-ROM I had a few moments where the drive was accessible through JF. If I tried to read it, it would start, but would lock up on one of the banks. JF alone would lock up. I could CTRL-ALT-DEL and kill JF, and restart, but JF would eventually lock up again if I tried to repeat the process.

With a different controller without drivers installed it worked fine. With your setup using a PMCIA card, are there two sets of drivers? Will it function without drivers? If you haven't already, try uninstalling your drivers for your card and using JF.

Disabled one of the drivers (a unita driver that i used to get it working in the first place).. was able to flash the TS drive but the benq still froze.. tried disabling the vt6421 under scsi and raid controllers but then i couldn't select the correct port in JF.. anyone have any other ideas?
