Lite On Key Extraction Problems
« on: May 31, 2009, 11:33:00 PM »

Hello,

To start i would like to thank you for taking the time to read over my post. and explain i have already spent hours browsing the web for my solution & have found simular but not quit the same....please dont yell at me if you find the answer after only a few minutes of browsing. Prehaps i overlooked somthing but im pretty sure i havent.......

    MY  SYSTEM
Microsoft Windows 7 RC1 Build 7100 ( I know everything is based on xp and i have the same problem in xp )
HP - Pavilon a6203w
AMD Athlon™ 64x2 Dual Core Processor 4400+, 2300mhz, 2 Core(2), 2 Logical Processor(s)
BIOS VER - Phoenix Technologies, LTD 5.11
SMBIOS VER - 2.4
Hardware Abstraction Layer = 6.1.7100.0
NVIDIA nFORCE Serial ATA Controller(thats what jungleflasher says But no driver in device manager)
PORT IO Is Installed
NVIDIA nFORCE Serial ATA Controller

My bord has OnBOARD Sata and i do Not have a Sata Card I assume this means the Via driver stuff is usless to me correct?

Additional hardware

CK3 PRO With PROBE
Radio Shack 6ft USB-A to Serial cable......(this installs a driver and gives me a ready com port 3 in "JF")

The Issue that has me stuck is basicly is No matter how many times i try it will not allow me to read the key. I follow the tutorial To The Jungleflasher Tutorial exactly as it says. I have also tryed Different trey adjustments. different methods of aquiring the half open trick. every time i try to read the key it says
" Bad Serial DATA " I have also tryed this in dosflash and i get everything untill the Key. Once start the read it pauses for about a second or 2 than says " Key Is Bad " I have noticed it manages dump the Inquiry.bin & Identify.bin but no key or dummy.bin However i did Notice when it brings up the MTK vendor thingy it gets stuck when i power off power on....as in it comes back with a incorrect status.....so it just sits there untill i press escape. I do not understand

Possible problem with my probe maybe?

Once i have the drive powered on Trey Half open & put the probe on R707 the blue light on the probe remains on but the green ready light lights up. But if i remove the probe from r707 The green and blue lights both remain lit up even tho im no longer touching. However when i am touching the r707 the green light is a bit brighter than when not......i read somwhere that its supposed to be green when the drive is ready to be probed and brght green when the probe is ready....but i have done many others and the probe responds differently .....no touching no green light.......not dim when im not, and bright when i am.  This problem happened to me with one other lite on drive but i gave up on it.  now i have a different lite on  and am having the same problem.

I have also fliped and probed the back of r707 aswell same thing Bad serial data....

I have installed the ck3 drivers and port IO drivers....windows and dos both pick the drive up well both vista and xp my problem is it will not allow me to extract the key.....i have succeded about 18 times but this is the second drive its not letting me probe,.........

also is there a way i could prehaps try the probe on a benQ drive see if there is a issue with the probe?...i dont have a different liton around to test...is the benq even probable?

( or any try setting except fully closed or open)

r u sure you are actually putting the probe inside the hole for r707 and not on it?
this is a type of usb extractor, have you ticked the box in JF under dvdkey 32 at the top right for usb xtractor switch then try to use the probe
see if that works
only other thing is that u have a dodgy probe or you are just not getting a good contact
carefully around the r707 hole clean the edges with a pin or sharp object and scrape very carefully in case its a bad contact

The Usb Xtractor box is grey to me... i cant check it....but im actualy using a com port...my radioshack cable works as if its an actual com port....tryed soildering the 2 points on r707 together....should that work or do i need to connect a wire from r707 to the tx point? my idea here is to eliminate the probe...process of elimination i guess....

if you want to eliminate the probe u can solder the two points on the r707 but be very careful
what i used to do before i had the probe was cut a tiny piece of solder the length of the 2 point and stick on with sticky tape
make sure the two points are touching hold tight with my finger and hit the get key, files etc tab
this way will work if you arent good at soldering

I must have the worst luck in the world......so let me get this straight all i have to do is connect the 2 little points on the bord and extract....i dont have to use the TX point at all.....just the 2 tiney points in r707 must touch?....if so ive tryed and No key...

u can try the r708 joined as well if i remember right that leads to the RX
the r707 leads to TX or vice a versa
this is what the probe eliminates tho so there is no soldering  -  its been a while since i did any soldering
originally when the liteons came out you had to solder both bridges r707 r708
see how that goes
someone can correct me if im wrong
