"make Ixtreme Firmware.cmd" For Ixtreme
« on: May 31, 2009, 08:28:00 AM »

Hi,

I'm currently following this guide to flash my MS28 drive using an Asus A8N-SLI Premium Motherboard.

The drive has been flashed before (not by me) as I purchased the unit second hand, however i'd like to update it for use with newer games.

I'm using the ixtreme 1.6 USB method, albeit i've run dosflash directly from DOS off the USB (rather than the regular install as i've been unable to get it to recognize my drive, but dosflash has no worries) and created a .bin file of my drive without any trouble.

I've now booted back into windows (step 10) and  I'm now suppose to use a Make "ixtreme firmware.cmd" command file to create the firmware as well as "firmware toolbox" to copy my key to the file it creates, however I don't have either of those tools or with my copy of ixtreme 1.6

Am I simply trying to update my firmware in a way that is now obsolete?

How should I proceed?

Yes, very very old procedure.
run firmtool in dos to copy the relevent info/key to the cfw.
then flash with dosflash.
