Orig Bin File Failed Md5 Has Check!
« on: May 30, 2009, 07:26:00 PM »

Hi Guys,

I am not sure why I am getting this error. I am upgrading a Lite-On from 1.5 to 1.6. Here is what I am doing. I tried searching the internet and this board, but didn't find a solution.

(1) When I first modded by Lite-On, I kept a copy of my original firmware (JF named it dummy.bin).
(2) Instead of doing the half-open tray trick and getting the key again, I thought I could just use that stock dummy.bin and put it into JF. JF would do it's thing and make my new Ixtreme 1.6 firmware.

I tried this with two different original firmwares, mines and my friends. I get the same error. Any insight into this issue would be appreciated. I am using Windows 7. I am pretty sure I can create the new Ixtreme 1.6 Lite-On firmware, but don't want to just because of this error.

Here is an image of the error:

Weird thing is, I only get this error when JF wants to autoload the ix16-liteon.bin file. If I load it manually than go to "Spoof Target as Source" I don't get this error

BTW, forgot to add. Using JF V0.1.62

Hi guys,

Even thought I was getting this error, I was still able to flash my Lite-on drives. I did not have JF autoload the lite-on.bin file. If you get this error, do not AUTOLOAD the firmware .bin file

Hi All

I had the same problem yesterday, but was just closing jf down.  Spent nearly 5 hours to get the 0800 flashed to liteon.  After loads of guidance from JF chat managed to sort it with jf 1.6 not jf 1.62,. Seems to be a bug in code somewhere.

Hope this helps.

All working good for me now.

Hey I have this problem and need help (Rookie)

I am trying to do my drive from scratch, its a Liteon DG-162DS 8385

So far ive got as far in Jungle Flasher as being able to save these files:

Dummy.bin, Identify.bin, Inquiry.bin, Key.bin.

Then Jungle Flasher pops up with the Autoloader when I click yes I get this same msg:

"jungle flasher Orig bin file failed MD5 hash check!"

I have then tried (not sure if this is right?) Open Source Firmware and selected "Dummy.bin" And my drive info pops up with my key.

Then I click on "open target Firmware" (again not sure if this what im supposed to do) and look for the "ix16-liteon-repack.bin" once selected Jungle Flasher just closes? done it like 5 times!

Also I have done the entire open tray procedure 5 times and the same thing happens so what am I suppsed to do? do I need to get that Orig bin file elsewhere in order for this to work? is the half open tray thing only need to be done to get the files I already have? please help this Rookie!  unsure.gif

Ok I figured out my problem, I had the Lite-On iXtreme 1.6 Repack When I should of had the LiteOn_iXtreme_83850c-THX_v1.6 instead, All seemed to go well for this Rookie and my reg 360 game works so I atleast know its still good to play reg games.  Thanks for everyones help who may have helped me in my other posts!  biggrin.gif

Are these files the important ones to keep in 3 diff places?

Dummy.bin, Identify.bin, Inquiry.bin, Key.bin.
