After A Seemingly Successful Flash, Sees Discs As Dvds.
« on: February 03, 2020, 08:46:00 PM »

So I bought a VIA card, flashed it, yadda yadda yadda. I made a boot disk out of my USB drive with iPrep v0008 (or something with an 8.) and I flashed it with ixtreme 1.6 (Updated definitions in iPrep).

I followed the intructions and everything worked out successfully (or so it says), and I re-assemble my xbox 360 to test it. First, I pop in Halo 2. It says "Play DVD". I think: "OH CRAP". I pop in backup of Halo 3. Same thing happens. This seems to happen with unsuccessful flashes, but I am pretty sure my flash was sound. Maybe I used the wrong method though? It took me a long time to figure out what the process was (I thought it would be different from how people flashed the original xtreme firmware) because of the scarce information on flashing with ixtreme 1.5 and up that was updated within the last year.

I am using a samsung drive (ms28), and I didn't put in a real serial while flashing it. Please tell me it's not necessary, I got the wrong case (HDMI console, but AV only case) from the person I bought it from so the Serial is wrong.

Tell me if you need any more info.

Thanks!

the serials not importants
i would just create your hacked firmware in JF and save this file(make sure it has your key in it) and copy the file over to your usb stick
remember what its called cause you have to type in this name using iprep008
its possible with your flash the key didnt copy over

Is it possible that it would happen twice? I just tried flashing it again. I will do as you suggested. Also, an ISO came with the ixtreme firmware file, called Activate. It contains the same subfolders as a usual game backup disc does (Large iso, but only 6 mb of files on it, Audio_TS and Video_TS folders.) Do I need this for anything?

I have no idea how to use JF to do this (I have it open here, but it is way to complicated for me.). Would you  be willing to give me a basic outline of what I need to do? (Such as: 1. Load firmware 2. Type _____ 3. Open something. 4. Click something.)

Edit: Apparently, the activate.iso if for activating One Shot Boot Mode. The info in the readme doesn't make clear what this does, but it would be clear to me if I had done this before.

Edit 2: Looks like I need the original firmware as well as the ixtreme firmware. I have looked for these before and could not find them. Perhaps I was using the wrong search terms. Should I just look up JungleFlasher samsung firmwares instead?

well if you tries to falsh it again using the same steps as you did the first time, you most likey re-flashed it with the wrong key again. doenload firmware ottlbox and compair the keys of all your files(original and hacked from both the first and second flashes), they should all match and be something unique

Alright let me give some background. I heard something about having to move something to the new drive when replacing a drive. Well here is what happened. I bought this Xbox 360 off a guy who's friends xbox 360 had stopped working, so they put them together. The current disc drive is from the other Xbox. Can I still flash it without having to bring over a key from the old one (or whatever people do when replacing a drive)?

Also, so if those two files are the same, what then?

Edit: I do not see anything on here that would allow me to check these files. I feel like I missed a big part of this process of flashing. I thought I just stuck it in, told it to read, then told it to write (After I made the USB key with the firmware I wanted.) Apparently that's now how it works.)

you need the key from the original drive.
the drive is married to the motherboard.
so if you swapped the drive, you cant just flash it with those key, since those keys go to the other console.

do you have a copy of the firmware you read from your drive beforte you flashed with ixtreme 1.6
if so use that as your orig if you dont and you flashed over with ixtreme its possible you flashed a blank key
if you have a copy load into source in JF and load the1.6ixtreme into target, hit  spoof to target tab and save file this will now be your new flashable firmware
make sure your source and target file have matching keys and that they are multiple letters and numbers not all FFF or zeros

Hardie : This is his problem. The drive keys he has, is for the other console. The drives were swapped. The keys won't work. Until he gets the keys from the other drive, it will only be a dvd / cd player. Won't play any games original or backups with a key from the OTHER console.

Are the drive keys on the motherboard or on the drive? I have the drive key for the this drive. So your saying that I have to copy the drive key from the other to the new one so it thinks its the same drive? Shit.
