first off... thank you to all who give there time helping those in need, without all of you, as well as those who create the software needed for us tinkerers, the bulk of us would be lost... many many thanks!!!

now i have done alot of reading and come to a few conclusions.......

1) i may need to externally re flash my chip (soldering is not a prob, just dont have a programmer)
2) buy new 360 drive and spoof to my needs (not a prob, just hate waiting for shipments)
3) borrow friends hitachi and try hot swapping (if he could only part from his 360 long enough to try)
4) swap hitachi 59 laser to my sammy ms28 (hitachi currently/was? spoofed to sammy since sam is bout dead)
5) post my jungle flasher log here and see if anyone has any other bright ideas!!... yes i know where i screwed up....... so ashamed.......sigh......
drive does go into mode b however will not recognize in any windows(xp, vista, 32&64 bit versions of both) nor in any safe mode, nor dosflash or firmware toolbox.  drive doesn't return errors when connected to 360 but refuses to play anything(drive spins up fine gives the play in 360 blah blah blah)
don't really think i've missed anything but figure it cant hurt to have someone else take a look just in case i over looked something............ so without futher ado here's the log

Hitachi Bricked?

just an update......

took the laser out of the hitachi 59 and installed to the samsung ms28.  the drive would not initially play any disc but after adjusting laser height my 360 is back in business!!  this was an extremely tedious task where by i set the left and right adjusters(with tray facing me and top of drive case removed) to the lowest setting(counter clockwise) and making micro adjustments to the right adjuster.  (best to leave the 4 screws holding the case together out at this point since i constantly had to take the top off then place it right back on)  i simply adjusted, placed top of case back on, attempted to load a disc, failed to load and repeated.  eventually it recognized discs as  "mixed media cd", then "play dvd", and then "play game"!!!!! after this i put the screws back in the case and have been enjoying my 360 since.

so there is my experience with a bad flash hitachi 59 and a bad laser samsung ms28. hopefully this can help someone else trouble shoot and maybe even help fix their problem.

cant say it enough but !!!!!Thank You!!!!! to all in the xbox360 community for everything and dedicating so much of your time to developing new software, creating tutorials, and giving people a place to help one another.

that said... i'm out, peace!

I had the same problem, froze during flash on mine, had no choice but to reboot.  After that the drive wasn't recognized, and wouldn't eject.  When in the 360, the light just blinks.
