well i osrted of fixed it by just puting the firmware on the I/O port i beleived the liteon to be and it worked, but i have not had good results,

1) after flashing tested it, put in an original came, on the dashboard it came up "play DVD" upon playing dvd a white screen appeared telling me to put an xbox 360 disk into the console,

2) reflashed it again write verified on JF but still wont play disks just keeps saying reading,

just going to reboot pc to try again

I just had the same issue with my LiteOn becoming non-responsible and appearing to be bricked. Follow Biteable's instuctions and you'll be good to go: http://www.360mods.n...p;p=60451#60451

thanks for the reply, i have managed to get life back in the drive using JF and i have tried 3 times to get 1.6 on, but it just wont do anything other than say "reading" of the disk, i thought maybe i fried the laser as mentioned in older posts, so i put 1.51 back on it and fired it up and it worked perfectly, AAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH WTF is going on lol, i started to do these two xboxs 4 hours ago lol, i think i will give up for tonight and try again in the morning.

are you using the repack firmware mate? if not this could be your problem

yep definetly the repack version, i found out about that after searching to see why i couldn't get the original to work lol

well i got it working in the end, for some reason if i rebooted the pc and tried to upgrade from 1.51 to 1.6 it just wouldn't write, it would show writing bank 0... and that was it, i would retry doing it and it would write all the banks/verify the banks and say write ok, but when testing in the console it would just show as reading disk and nothing more would happen, the drive wasn't even speeding up.

So i put 1.51 back on, write ok, then instead of removing the drive from the CK3 i just went on and did the 1.6 flash straightaway, (drive closed this time) it showed write ok again, tested and bingo worked fine, not really sure what the problem was but got there in the end,
