Finally, what do you guys know that C4eva and Team HyperX doesn't know? With *no* disrespect intended - they've been the ones creating the firmware and have had all the right info in the past. If they're telling us that M$ has possibly used drive speed as one of the detection methods in past ban waves, why shouldn't we believe them?
You guys are acting like people are saying M$ will ban you solely for using a non-12x drive speed f/w. Nobody is saying that. However, what they are saying is that they believe drive speed was one of the many factors used in previous ban waves.
You're mistaken, c4e has never said M$ has used drive speed as a detection method, ever. There's not a single Live log indicating anything of the sort, and no one has said they believe drive speed was a factor in any ban waves, period.
What c4e has said it that he thinks it could be potentially detectable someday, no matter how unlikely, and therefore it's not something he wants to support any longer. I understand that position. But that is a very far cry from saying it has caused ban waves.

Complete BS and speculation, not to mention such a simple theory that assumes they only have code to detect what speed a drive is running at any given time. A check could be built into what speed the drives attempts to spin the disc up at first.
Again, the Live logs have never indicated any drive speed check, period. Could they do it in the future? Maybe, which is the heart of the matter. But there are a lot of things they "could" do in the future.

There goes your theory. Just buy a hard drive and stop pirating games. Only people who are that stingy to COMPLAIN about this, something they've been given for free are people who pirate games...also too stingy to buy a fucking hard drive.
Quit your whining and get lost.
You weren't directly responding to me, but I'll tell you I have multiple 360s, and I have more than enough disposable income to put 120GB drives in my 360s, and I still hack my firmware to run at 5x. It's not because I'm cheap. It's because I have way too many games to rip them all, and a house full of kids with fickle tastes and short attention spans who (see "Murphy's Law") seem to never want to play a game that's already on the hard drive.
As for running your mouth and cutting people down--perhaps you could cool your jets, Goose. Nobody's complaining here as far as I can tell, it's just a discussion. You may want to quit reading if you can't handle that.
