Complete BS and speculation,
What you you mean is speculation?
- That I tested the 1.6 FW with lower speeds or
- that the drive determines the read speed on its own or
- that the SDK urges the developers to make
their games run at the denoted lower speeds the drive
may choose?
I Guess you are spreading lies, because you neither
got a look into the XDK and as well because you
have no idea of how the speed setting is handled by
dvd drives.
But that´s your probem... Do not blame me for your
inabillity.

not to mention such a simple theory that assumes they only have code
to detect what speed a drive is running at any given time. A check could
be built into what speed the drives attempts to spin the disc up at first.
So what? Such an application would never know if the
lower speed was set by an unchanged original FW with
a worn out laser or a defective medium that caused the
lower speed setting or by a modified FW. I guess you just
do not have enough knowledge of the inner working of
error correction handling by optical drives.

There goes your theory. Just buy a hard drive and stop pirating games. Only people who are that stingy to COMPLAIN about this, something they've been given for free are people who pirate games...also too stingy to buy a fucking hard drive.
Quit your whining and get lost.
You are just a poor lamer trying to get attention by
using insults in spite of arguments.
