Hey all, someone sent me a MS25 to flash and am having hell of a job to get results.

As far as I know from the user it is stock firmware (EDIT, user has advised me it has been flashed to 1.4 in the past), I tried intro/device id, sammy unlock, both with and without the 0800 dvd.

The only way I can get a flashchip status is to click intro, click yes then quickly put the 0800 dvd in and I get the flashchip status.
Problem is the drive key is coming out all zeros and with Ix 1.4 5x speed.

I know for 100% that I wouldnt have flashed that to it by accident as there is no 1.4 firmware on my pc and I built it way after 1.5 had been released.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try DosFlash from inside DOS, and see if it does the trick.

Have tried on a different pc and the same happens.

I think it's a weird drive issue as Jungleflasher would have warned me that no valid key was found and that it wont unlock with the 0800 dvd when using Sammy unlock.

Going to send the drive back (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Right, can someone explain how this has happened as the user has received his drive back and it will not play games.

The drive was NOT flashed, just had problems getting Vendor mode and now the key has been erased (IMG:style_emoticons/default/uhh.gif)

I had the same thing happen to me on a MS25. Tried JF and iprep and couldnt get the key. Nothing but zeros. I never flashed it cause I couldnt get the key and when I put the drive back the key erased by itself?! I was getting put this game in a xbox 360 error.

What you need to do is get the SAM-OFW that you dumped and check it with a hex editor to get the key. I got my drive flashed and up and running.

Hey, could you do that for me or show me how to? I still have the dumped FW that I could send you, ive dabbled with hexediting so if you can tell me where the key is located I can possibly sort it.
