This release has nothing to do with AP25. Its not even been proven that it is being utilized yet. There are a few members in our crew and in the scene that have been aware of AP25 for about a year. The reason we do not publicize such information is because of questions and presumptions like the one above. No, what you are not doing is bad, just atypical. We do not want to have to put out the fires when the fires have been created out of recklessness, ignorance, or misunderstandings. People ask about 'ap25' when they dont have the slightest clue what it is.
Please do not ask about AP25 or anything related to it. It is a non-issue for the moment. When it becomes a issue, we will address it.
This is the technical discussion forum, what's wrong with some technical discussion about it?
First, I don't see any link in the stickies to information as to how normal Xbox 360 disc authentication works. Anyone know a site that explains that?
Second, the article from earlier says it involves an encrypted LBA check? So it's just requesting data at a certain LBA? Isn't that what it does normally for reading the disc? Any more details about that?
Lastly, is it proven that it's not being utilized? Microsoft seems like the type to test it or actually implement checks for banning on only a few 360s at a time. How would it fail? By returning something that would pretty obviously indicate a modded drive or something more like a dirty disc/drive failure?
