« on: April 13, 2009, 06:46:00 PM »

i have been trying to flash my samsung 25 with the new 1.51 firmware.  i am using the JF and the same card i used to flash the drive before.  now when i get the drive into vendor mode and i try to read the old 1.5 firmware it shows and invalid status error.  i have posted my JF log and want to know if anyone has any ideas.  i have tired read erase and write and all give the same error.  also what is the Invalid Status 0x50 mean to?   i have tried both sata ports on my card.   thanks for the help.

what was the version of firmware that was on on it b4 or is it stock?
Why does it say sammy unlock not sent?  you are supposed to unlock/put into vendor mode   there are various ways of putting into vendor mode from page 20 in the tutorial
i think thats your problem

okay now we are gettting somewhere
you have 1.5 ixtreme so you have to unlock by half tray open method
so get you drive with the tray half open then run jungle flasher its the same method as a liteon then hit sammy unlock it should show a parallel status of 0x70 if it doesnt and it show status 0x50 hit intro/device id tab then you can read

could not edit my last post
this way it will pop a box up that MTK failed do you want to resend click yes this is where you have to powere off/on drive in 1 sec so hope you have a connectivity kit its much easier
and hopefully it will show flash chip properties on the right andshould say drive in vendor mode on the left
you can check this method on page 24 of JF tutorial
see how u go

ok this is my latest.  i power on my pc, turn on the 360, then launch JF.  click on the mtk flash tab and it shows my drive.  i then click on the intro device and it ask to resend, i click yes.  i pull the plug on the back on the drive (using the 360 to power the drive) and put it right back in.  JF either fails vendor intro or just freezes.  if i do the half open tray i can see the drive in explore.  i start JF, mtk tab and click intro tab and prestro im in vendor mode.  but when i try to read the drive, invalid status error.  i have tried every combo on the web from the 10 second to powering on the 360 after starting JF.  i really need some help here.  this is the same setup i used to flash the drive almost a month age.  dang it shouldnt be this hard.........

only thing i can think of is using the power from the box is too slow it needs to be very quick in 1 sec thats probably why you keep getting a invalid status
maybe try using dos or iprep
i have done a samsung with JF but reverted back to iprep
i always flash my samsungs using iprep but the old version iprep101v006 and update ixdef file
this just makes a bootable floppy
what you did in your last post is correct but obviously power off/on is not quick enough
seeing im the only one helping you have nothing to lose but try the iprep you can use power from the box

ok, i tried JF .26 beta and it reads my drive.  JF 155 beta doesnt.  .26 also loads the new 1.51 firmware and is acting like it is ready to flash.  my question is it safe to use .26 to flash my drive and not the new 155 beta?  i dont know why the new JF is not reading my drive, but 26 will.  any thought would be helpful. 26 beta it what i flashed the drive to 1.5 with to start with.
