Connecting Pc And Xbox Ground

I just had a thought, guys...

Most tutorials recommend connecting the PC's ground and the xbox's ground together, but SATA connectors and the xbox's DVD drive power connector both have ground pins, right? so wouldn't the PC's ground and the xbox's ground already be connected via the DVD drive's ground?
