Spoofing Hitachi 46 As Lite-on
« on: March 26, 2009, 04:40:00 PM »

I've been given a lite-on which doesn't load games, it doesn't spin discs up or anything.
Anyway my plan was to spoof an old Hitachi 46 I have laying around.

I've connected the Lite-On up to my CK3 kit and took the key, identity etc out of it and there in a folder.
Now when I open Jungle Flasher and connect the hitachi I'm lost as to what I'm meant to do.

I've never flashed any hitachi using JungleFlasher but it seems the easiest piece of kit to use for all the others drive but i'm stuck (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Can someone tell me when I need to do to spoof the 46 as a Lite-On so I connect it all back up and play games. Or a guide which deals with JF and Hitachi would be great.

Cheers guys  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

First you need to dump the drive to get be able to open the firmware and edit the key in jungle flasher.

Dump the Hitachi?
Then I can add the key from the Lite-On to it? And create the spoofed FW?

Then basically I flash the CFW on to the Hitachi like I would flash a normal Hitachi and it should work?
Correct me if I'm going down the wrong lines here  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)
