Tutorial To Upgrade Benq To 1.51 ?
« on: March 21, 2009, 09:39:00 AM »

Hi,

I am sorry if I could be asking somthing already requested but is there a tutorial to upgrade Benq from 1.5 to 1.51 please?

I was thinking of using my key to create a new hacked 1.51 firmware with jungleflasher and then use dosflash to flash the new hacked firmware by direct sata connection to drive.

Is it ok?  I am not sure if I need to have tray half open or power cycle......

Thanks in advance to any help

There is a link to the Jungle Flasher User Guide in my signature.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I updated my BenQ today (and I've never flashed a console before) with iPrep and then in DOS. Never thought it would be that easy. I just made a bootable flash drive, connected the drive to my SATA port (I don't even have a VIA card), booted from the flash drive and followed the on-screen steps. First I read the original firware and then wrote iXtreme 1.51. Everything was finished successfully within 5 minutes. I thought this would be more complicated.

yeah sounds like you're making it harder than it is

Iprep is always easy, and flawless

but i have found that the new jungleflasher makes flashing benq's a snap. i've had trouble with just about every other drive with JF, but not the BenQ's. i'm done in under 3 minutes, every time

The only drawback is that the drive must be connected to a VIA card. It didn't recognize my drive like flashing in DOS did.

thanks for all the help.

So just to clarify with iprep I can upgrade my already modded 1.5 to 1.51 right?

I was not sure that it would work since the drive is already modded with 1.5......

the process is the same if you flashed it already to 1.5 - only difference you might have to put the tray in half way to get in mode b
