V79 Flash---verification Failed
« on: March 17, 2009, 01:33:00 PM »

So I modded a buddy's elite the other day (Hitachi v79) and kept getting errors. I got errors dumping the original FW and flashing iX1.51. It took multiple times to get it right. After the flash it failed during verification, so I started the whole process over again but JF said the checksum was already there. It wouldn't flash over an already hacked Fw. So what I want to know is, if it said it failed then why do backups boot up? Hopefully someone on the know will answer this.....

If you want, you could obtained unmodified firmware, inject your key, flash it, and then reflash iXtreme using Windows API see if that makes any difference.

Same issue here.  I get the failed dump messages when reading and verifying.  I just keep hitting button until it takes.  once flashed it goes into verification mode.  You can manually verify by unhooking from jungleflasher and hooking back to xbox MB and running a backup.  Keep in mind jungleflasher IMO is a well written program that's as easy to use a caveman can even do it however it does have some bugs and this may be one of them based upon your hardware.  As long as you dont experience issues while writing i think your ok.

Once in mode B and unlocked use toolbox 4.8, load in 1.51 and select differential flash, click on detect differences. Should be able to tell u if it is already flashed I believe once unlocked it is supposed to behave as the v78 and should read flash and then u will know if it is already flashed correctly, if it is different then perhaps u should restore before trying to reflash?
