Flash Liteon Without Connectivity Kit

unfortunately, nobody will hold your hand while you try to flash your 360 drive.

the 360 power supply will work, but it does not make the process as easy a ck3 or even an old connectivity kit. make sure the tutorial you are using instructs you to use the 360 power supply and if you still need help do some reading of the other tut's to see if you can find any more tips to help you.

you should know that you can get your drive flashed for less than the cost of a ck3 + probe as long as you are willing to trust somebody else with the job.

how were you able to flash your liteon drive with no accessory?  I have a Philip lite-on drive from recent xbox360 that I purchased 3 weeks ago.  I was about to buy the connectivity kit.   Do i need it?

yes like stated above, ck3 is only needed to get the keys. as you xbox is not modded you will need it. I had a modder do it for me the first time and when 1.51 i just did it my self.

Technically, you don't need the kit after its been flashed for the first time and you have the inquiry, identify, key, and dummy bins.  You can simply use the 360 to power the drive and flash it over sata connected to your pc.  The issue is that your 360 may be banned from live if you turn on the 360 without the DVD drive connected via sata to the xbox itself.  Some report differently, but as Microsoft bans in waves, I would venture to guess they are sitting ducks.  However, some claim the ban happens immediately upon boot of the system into live.  Personally, I would just spend the $35.00 for the kit.
