Ms25 Has Bad Flash Need Help
« on: March 10, 2009, 02:18:00 PM »

I used jungle flasher to upgrade my Ms25 to 1.51 from 1.5 and i really messed it up.  I am using a VIA card and when i went to write the file it said write failed in all 4 banks.  I tryed to exit out of program and do it again.  But when i went back in it would not recognize that drive anymore.  I hooked up another drive to check it and it worked fine.  I have tryed to get into it with Iprep and Dosflash but i am not exactly sure how to erase the drive with Dosflash 16 manually.  Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Remove the VIA drivers from Windows. Page 62 of the Jungle Flash User guide (which can be found when you first start JF there is a link in bottom right for the guide)

After drivers are removed, rebooted, and verify they are removed, Get drive into mode B (im sure u know how now) and flash. Dont forget to add the key.

So I take it you got your 1.51 firmware all ready?

If so...
Format a USB stick using iprep 8.8 and ix1.51 and when it completes open the USB stick.
Open the folder named backups and create a folder named 1234567 and open it.
Inside 1234567 create a folder named 12345 and open it.
Place your ix1.51 Samsung firmware (The one injected with your key) here and rename it samcfw.bin
Shut down your PC and boot your USB.
In iprep you will type fsam 1234567 12345 and hit Enter then follow the simple onscreen instructions.

Good Luck!

Please pay no attention to this there is no Mode B for Samsung drives only Hitachi.

Just post the results. Sorry to the post above, What i ment to say was VENOR MODE my bad. Do what i said, dont bother with iprep and shit, its a big waste of time if the drive already was reconized in windows.

Do shit in dos as a last resort. Trust me I don't post much, but when someone has the exact same problem i had, i will.  This method was given to me from c4ever on fw and works.
