Hitachi Flash Gone Wrong
« on: March 10, 2009, 01:12:00 PM »

Problem: I was flashing a Hitachi before I had a VIA chipset. This was using old firm as well (like 1.0) where I tried to get the drive into Mode B by using the two wire trick. I must've held the wires to long, because the drive will no longer eject when connected to the mobo.

Anyone know a fix for this? Is the drive or the Mobo fried?

Would really appreciate an expert opinion on this. Thank you.

you bricked it so you either need your orginal firmware from the drive and spoof it to a diff drive or you need to send your drive and/or tsop from the drive to someone with a programmer to read it externally.

When you said I bricked it... You mean the DVD drive correct? I can verify the drive is not bricked. Recently i hooked it up and successfully got the key off the drive.

Which makes me think something is wrong with the mobo. I can put any drive on the mobo and it still will not eject. The mobo boots to xbox dash fine.
