The Hitachi drives need to be in mode B.
Did you do this?
The 79 also needs to be unlocked with the 79unlock disc.
Did you do this?

Having the same issue with my v79FK and VIA 6421 card. I've tried with drivers installed and uninstalled and can't seem to get JungleFlasher to recognize the drive.

@Traviss63
You cannot put the drive into Mode B or unlock it if JF doesn't recognize the drive. It needs to show up in properties to issue it any commands.

You havn't mentioned if you are updating your drive or flashing a stock drive. If you have already flashed with ixtreme, use the power trick (i.e. eject the tray and then pull the power plug from your 360 when the drive is in the open position).

hi, not trying to hijack the thread but I am using the power trick ie turn on 360 with drive open, I believe this gets it into mode b (confirmed as it takes two presses to open, two to close).  but still can't get drive recognized in windows in order to do the 79 unlock

Sorry but that does not put a Hitachi v79 drive into mode B.
