Flashed My Lite-on With Fw 1.51
« on: March 07, 2009, 10:00:00 PM »

I wanted to post this because it costed me almost 2 hours to get this all done lol.

This is what I did, it might be bad, it might be wrong. But it totally worked for me.

I also want to say my english is not the best so I hope you will understand it :-)

Hardware I got:

360 Xtractor tool
spear addon (this is optional)
VIA card VT6421

Software I got:

ixtreme 1.51 hacked fw
JungleFlash 0.1.5.1 beta
Dosflash 1.7 the 16bit you need
360 Xtractor Maximus tool
VIA drivers (VIA_RAID_V530C google that)
NTFS4DOS (you can use anything just to boot in dos. My pc won't boot via usb for some reason so I use this)
Windows XP 32bit

=============================
I recommend to install the VIA drivers first. My windows did not let me see the drive without them.

I first dumped all the files I needed with 360 Xtractor Maximus tool.

You can see how you need to dump it here:
http://www.maximusgames.net/360xtractor.php?opt=4

*don't forget the USB DRIVERS and the WINFORD PORTIO32 DRIVERS. They are really easy to install just read the readme.txt
=============================

After I got all the files dumped I started JungleFlash.

The program gave me some error but I just clicked continue.

I loaded up my dummy.bin I just got with the maximus tool(Load source firmware). Pressed yes.
And than you click on save to file.

it will say liteon_CFW.bin or something like that.

=============================
After that I made a folder named flashme in C:/ (so it looks like c:/flashme)

There I put in the dosflash 16 bit files (DosFlash.exe and DosFlash.typ)

Also I puted in my liteon_CFW.bin but I renamed it to liteon just because I did lol.
=============================
Now I rebooted my PC with the NTFS4DOS cd in my dvdrom player. (note that you might need to change the boot order in your bios to let it boot from CD.)

The xbox360 drive is OFF while you restart your PC!

The program loads and ask's you some question just type Yes and press enter.
=============================
You enter C: and press enter.(if it's not already on c: for you)
-
Go to your flashme folder by entering "cd flashme" (without the " ")
-
Now you power your xbox360 drive ON
-
You simply type dosflash and press enter.
-
It will tell you blablabla 0x????? failed yes or no.
-
There you press NO!
-
It will than show you your lite-on drive and will ask you to enter the number that is your lite-on drive.
-
You press the number the drive is on (you can see it 16D2S)
-
It will ask you if you want to write/read or erase
-
You press e and than on enter.
-
If all went well it should have erased the drive and got back to c:/
-
Now you do the same dosflash -> no -> yourdrive# -> than you press on w
-
Now it will ask you what your file is called for me it was liteon.bin
-
It will now flash your drive, bank 0 ect...
-
When it's all done shutdown your pc and enjoy your flashed xbox360.
=============================

This is how I did it. I know I am weird and there might be faster and better ways to do it. But my windows kept freezing etc so I did it like this.

If you have questions just ask them (don't PM me) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I tried this method and NTFS4DOS just sits on initilizing my drive.

I've let it sit for 10 minutes and nothing..

You sure you have a NTFS drive not FAT32 or something?

Can you please explain little bit more because I don't understand what you mean by "initilizing"

My Liteon just got stuck after the MTK Vendor Intro failed. I turned the xbox/dvd drive on and off several times, it just sits there. I can see the drive but can't do anything with it. Any ideas?

When I tried this method, I would reboot and it would load from the disk.

It would then say something about pressing Enter, which I did, it then loaded some text, and eventually said Initializing C: then listed the size of my drive, then had a blinking cursor and did nothing else.

just... wow.

if you have a 6421 and a connectivity kit, uninstall your via drivers, power it on with the tray half open, extract key with jf, it'll automatically patch and load the firmware for you, erase button -> power cycle, write.

five minutes.

If you're talking to me I've already gotten mine flashed.

I'm only saying that this method didn't work for me. It's most likely because I'm not using the same VIA chipset.

Without the drivers JF does not even see my drive. Also windows kept freezing when I turned the drive on.
