IXtreme 1.51 and Jungleflasher 1.51
« Reply #270 on: March 15, 2009, 10:12:00 AM »

Ok so i have finally finished reading all 18 pages. after reading on and off for 3 hours.
I may have a problem.
(If you dont wish to read the wall of text. Main Question is below dotted line.)

I'm a collector I have one of every American 360 released.
I have a Core, and Pro, Elite, Halo, Arcade, Premium, Resident Evil.

The regular systems are all modified and the more expensive ones are not hehe.
Anyways I know that doesn't matter at all.

My problem is I modified all my regular systems and i have been with this since way back.
I think my core is like a hitachi 47dj, and the pro was like a sammy 25/28
The Arcade is a Ben Q, and the premium is a Lite on.''

Everything is working, now.

The problem is my hard drive died in my machine that I use to modify systems.
The only original firmware I have for any of my systems is the last one which is
the Lite on.

I have the CK3 Lite with serial, and i have the usb dongle as well.
I use Via card and all.

From what I have read I believe I can still update the ben q, and sammy
by just re-grabbing the DVD-keys.
And the Hitachi system i'm just out of luck?

Its not all that big a deal for me because I could just mod my three that
aren't modified and be good, but a while back I modified a few friends systems.
No hitachi's but everything else.
None of them play the two games that have wave 3 on them but im sure
there will be a lot more games later coming with wave 3 so eventually
i know i will have to update some systems.

Im pretty reasonable if it came down to it I would just swap my three unmodified systems
internals with my friends systems and mod those and lol like text book said
email the firmware to myself lol just in case.

So basically for the people that dont want to read the wall of text.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If i don't have the original firmware but I have via chipset, ck3 lite, and all the current soft/firmware.
Can I update to the new firmware for sammy, ben q, and lite on?
Not really worried about hitachi, but still would like an answer on it as well.

(Main question below dootted line after wall of text. For the people who wish to get
straight to the point.)

I know how to flash sammy, benq, and liteon with jungle flasher never did hitachi with it but
i assume it shouldn't be to hard. Anyways.

Is there anything that is different besides the with the sammy i don't have to hit the
unlock button?

Is there a guide to updating without reverting back to original firmware.
Cause this process of updating without reverting is new.
I did a couple of hitachi updates back before my machine crashed
because those machines originally weren't being played online
then i decided might as well so I updated after the initial
waves of banning's around Halo 3 beta time. But i reverted
then updated.

Anyways never the less thanks for the speedy reply "Whatsssup"
I have a liteon here that i have the key so ill do that one first.
Then ill try to update my benq, and sammy before i mess with
my friends.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Never updated firmware without reverting to original is there a guide for that.
As stated in previous post I have via chipset, ck3 lite and all knew firm/software.
Not a newbie to flashing, just never done it wouldn't original firmware. (system hard drive crash sad.gif )

Why don't you try to find some software that will read the raw data off your crashed hard drive and try to recover those files?  So long as your computer bios recognizes the drive you should be able to recover the files off the drive, especially since its only a few small files like the 360 firmware.  Chances are that you will be able to recover the files just fine.  Just search google for software.  There are free versions and paid versions as well.  Of course, bit torrent can be your friend too.

Odinfire has made a good point in recovering your lost keys/bios. So long as you havent wrote any data to the harddrive it should be able to extract what ever you need.

Hi.

I have one question, do you know if my Intel P45 chipset ( South Bridge: Intel 82801JR ICH10R ) works with the Jungleflasher or any other program to flash hitachi? I don't want to buy only a via card to flash xbox, but if it is the only solution... Iam asking this because in this moment i don't have my xbox here, and maybe next week i will flash with 1.5.1.

You can get the VIA card for about $10 at geeks.com, it's right here.  They're located in Oceanside, CA so you can pick it up if you live nearby, otherwise it's probably $5 at most for shipping.

Hi,

Ok i have flashed my lite-on drive b4 and have recently flashed it to 1.51. When i was doing this i tryed to use the existing key.bin, inquiry.bin & identify.bin that i had from the previous flash & use it for 1.51. When i try this it says im missing some drive information, im assuming this is the PCB & Laser serials and tells me to re-extract the info from my drive again.

I did this with the jungleflasher and re-extracted everything and it still came up with the same error. My lite-on still works, no problems, just wondered if this will cause me getting a ban on live?

There's a thread on this error here. As far as getting banned if it is missing, no one knows.

The problem is that i don't live in US, i live in Europe, Portugal, lol.

Iam going to search here, if there is any store with VIA Cards for a good price. smile.gif

Thanks.

Edit: One more question, what chipsets are compatible to flash xbox 360 ? I know that VIA and Nforce are compatible but there is any more ?

I updated my Benq from 1.41 to 1.51 last night with Jungleflasher. Just wanted to let you know my results.

I have the NForce 3 chipset and have never had a problem using it to flash via SATA. However Jungleflash would not recognize my Benq. It did find the NForce SATA but I coud not get it to recognize the drive. I disabled the floppy controller and disconnected both of my computer's DVD drives. Still no luck.

I have a via 6421 card so I installed it and did the PORTIO32 manual install. This time the Benq was recognized. Thank God for the Jungleflasher tutorial. Whoever did that is awesome. Not sure I would have been able to do it without that.  Anyway Jungleflasher worked great after I figured out what I was doing.

My Benq is flashed and working well.

Thanks to all who worked on the new firmware, software and tutorial!

There is no non-stealth firmware for the lite-on.

I think what he means is it would be nice to have a tool that would compare your ISO to your original disc instead of relying on an online database.  My labor-intensive solution is just to rip twice and compare the CRCs manually.
