One question, can anyone explain why Jungle Flasher needs an Unlock 79 cd in the drive and can't just unlock it through the software?

its not incorporated in the Jungle Flasher software - but sure makes the process alot easier

how can I spoof as 59 from 47 with 1.51 ???
please help somebody !!!!  somebody out there must have this info ?? and used this method  sad.gif

Can't this be done using Maximus' Firmware Toolbox 4.8?  If you've already got a 1.5.1 firmware with the key in place, just open it, spoof it, flash it.  I haven't tried this but assume it'd work.

FFS PORT IO....

I ran around for 2 hours before getting a hold of Vista 32 BIT, and while installing PORT IO, "Vista Error" "Please install manually".

Any help? Does not do anything with a manual install either......

it prolly created a manual install folder where u ran it from. this is what i did to get it working:

1- go to control panel, switch to classic view if ur not in it, and click add hardware
2- click next
3- select install manually..(advanced) and next
4- all devices click next
5- click have disk, browse to the "manual install" folder and choose portio.inf
6- ignore any warning and install anyway, then basically next next next

then I got in JF and it worked, didn't even uninstall the VIA drivers that vista installed when I plugged the PCI card.

if ur still having trouble there's a tutorial in pdf with images to do it in xp but it's same thing in vista once u get to the legacy add hardware screen.

Can someone inform me why there isn't a multispeed fw for the Samsung available? The 12x makes my drive go nuts.

Yea pretty simple to install once u know how!

as for ur chipset i dunno as i got intel on my mobo but i use a pci via card for xbox drives... and I don't know if portIO is specifically for VIA.
but i know some ppl reported being successful using nforce with liteons, so give it a try and u'll see. I'd try reading first tho, just to be safe.

I was told by a senior member of the board (sorry - can't remember who it was) that 12x speed is now going to be the default speed going forward due to previous Live bans by Microsoft.  The Jungle Team folks apparently believe that drive speed (other than 12x) could have possibly been one of the factors that was used in previous ban waves.

I don't game on Live anyway - so I just took him at his word.  My Hitachi 47 *was* at 8x speed and is now twice as loud at 12x speed.  Thus, the reason my new BenQ drive is on its way to my doorstep. biggrin.gif I've been told - and confirmed the same info on other sites - that the BenQ drive is probably the best - or at least the quietest - drive for the 360.

Personal opinion comes into play here though...

Hi I was able to flash my ms28 samsung with this tool.

However, I started looking into this when star ocean 4 would constantly freeze and it seemed that after flashing star ocean got farther into the game that before crashing 15 minutes or so in.  Meanwhile, a copy of madden 2008 I went back to and played for a few hours without a problem  Recently, that's now crashing when I go to save my progress or simulate games.  There isn't any red rings or anything like that it just stops and doesn't respond.  Any advice?

Thanks

hmm...didn't hear anything about speeds having to do with bannings...

but I guess I must be the only person who plays with 5.1 and a powered sub?  I really never notice my drive...except during a loadscreen maybe.
