No C4e isn't releasing 8x firmware because it could be a risk to getting banned on live if MS can detect the drive speed.

Turn up your TV or surround, and live with it.

There is alot of people who dos,nt play online and i,m one of them at 12X speed my backup will not run ok but with 8X speed it,s wonderful

Well, a compare of the 1.5 to the 1.51 shows that the changes
are a few added conditional branches, which is backed up by the
description in the 1.51 FW itself that says that some of  the previuos checks
have been droped. If you want to counter these facts, underline your
opinion with a commentary of the added code lines, that may backup your
opinion that the PFI & Videopart. are still checked for vailidity.

PFI and video checks are still performed but just less restricted in the sense that they could be intermixed.   The description of the firmware doesn't say the checks have been dropped but rather insinuates that they have become less restrictive and that you should use apps to verify that the correct data for each correlate.

Why do I have to paste code with commentary to prove my point?  You have the ability to compare the routines, so use it to prove yours.  If you dont like what he has done, write your own firmware.

Regarding the speed, I know the intended purpose behind the drive altering its own read speed due to read issues.  This doesnt mean that the manufacturer intended it to read at one fixed speed.  He felt it was a potential point of detection, so it wasnt released - plain and simple.  Those who want to continue to alter it in the firmware that supports it can, its only three bytes.

Caster.

MAN! i never had such a fast, smooth, and easy flash.

brand new elite out of the box opened her up, plugged the dvd drive to my pc  not powered by the 360 and connected to a VIA sata card, started up jungerflasher 1.51  found the drive instantly on one of the sata channels, clicked unlock benq drive did it smoothly returned a 0x73 status and began the intro, clicked read did so smoothly, went and found that the jungler flasher already spoofed my key, clicked save to file, went back to write the info did so smoothly, and finally clicked outro and the drive was finished litterally within 10 seconds,  tried the new mlb game to make sure and GREAT SUCCESS!

this was on a P35 chipset pc  dual booted with vista 64 and XP 32bit (flashing is always done on XP 32bit and have had a 100% success rate).

so to anyone with similar specs  you know it can be done, the VIA card just makes it sooo much easier and stressless.

BTW  i just wrote a mini tutorial if anyone caught that.

That just shows you know very little - if you know your backups are good, there is no need for iXtreme. If you truly made your own backups, you could use Xtreme without an issue.   I dont think you understand how he altered the firmware to allow this new wave to boot - checks are still performed.

Caster, please don't try and talk down to me.  I do make all my own rips, I rip them twice and compare the CRC using Mulleter, hence I never use Mulleter or ABGX360 to patch anything.  I know my rips are good.  Now you really just restated exactly what I stated: if you know your rips are good, there is no need for iXtreme.  That was precisely what I said in making my point.

I also find it hypocritical that the official line is "check your rips against an online database" when the real verification should be what I do--check your rips against your own original.  Seems to me that only pirates need an online database...my database is in my garage, packed away green cases.

I know c4e doesn't want to be endlessly messing with the firmware, but there's no hint that Microsoft is using this as a form of thwarting modders.  What indication is there that this will change before the next major dashboard update?  Microsoft has changed the video less often than c4e has changed the firmware.  It really seems like jumping the gun to assume this is going to be changing all the time.  It's a quick fix to just remove some of the checks, but its a lazy fix IMO.  I'm a professional programmer, and I've done lazy fixes before, too, so I'm not knocking him for that.  I just think in the long term, it's not ideal.  That having been said, I'm not the one coding the firmware, so I really can't complain too much.  It shouldn't even affect me, in theory.  Fingers crossed!

I have a question I haven't seen posted and I think its rather good..

When I burn my backups I use IMGBURN and in the options under write I have:
Layer Break For DL media set to: 1913760

With wave 3 will this layer break need to be changed or does it stay the same?

Thanks,
Franky

I had the same problem before. Solution is to flash your drive in DOS. there's a post in this borad that can help. Assume that you've already got the 3 bin files (key.bin, identity.bin, etc) from your drive and made a patched fw?

My personal samsung MS28 got semi-bricked. I hope it's semi brick only. But I got write errors and verify errors using J/F 1.51. Now, it gets open tray error and won't load any games. I have the key though.

I don't think I need any enable0800 disk though. It was flashed to xtreme 5.3 and I then I reflashed back to normal f/w.  Left it like that for 1.5 years.  So, if my memories serve me correctly, only the xtreme 3 and xtreme 4's had the firmguard.

I really dread having to resort to MTKFLASH and doing that stupid 10 second trick.  it's trial and error too for the count down.  I thought that the lastest version of dosflash didn't need to do the 10 second trick no more. But isnt' that the flashing app that that J/F uses? I will have to use MTKFLASH... old school one.

I finally got around to flashing my 360 with 1.51 and I'd just like to say that the new JungleFlasher is focking awesome. It was so easy I went ahead and flashed my second 360 (Black Elite). One question, can anyone explain why Jungle Flasher needs an Unlock 79 cd in the drive and can't just unlock it through the software? Thanks!

Just flashed my JASPER Lite-on and Benq with Jungle Flasher which I will use from now on, although my PC doesn't freeze up it slows down like hell!    dry.gif

I know I previously posted this issue in newbies forum but nobody seems to have the answer Im trying to spoof a hitachi 47 as a hitachi 59 can I get it to put the ixtreme 1.51 on at the same time as the spoof CAN I F********* !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY 4HRS AND ALL I KEEP GETTING IS A SPOOFED DRIVE THAT CAN PLAY THE ORIGINALS NO IXTREME 1.51
please is there anybody out there who has spoofed a hitachi using the new jungleflasher could they tell me
their steps to spoof and get ixtreme into the flash
please guys Im desperate now whats the correct method as I have tried so many variations its got to be easier than this ? ( unless its the program but Im sure its me )

this is what I keep doing
1.return hitachi 47 to stock
2.put cfw file into firm tool 32 ( this is the correct key detail with spoof info for hitachi 59 )
3.flash in hitachi tab  "spoof flash " as 59 ( when prompted pick 59 to spoof ) also tried option in spoof as just leave key)
4.all I end up with is the hitachi spoofed correctly playing originals only

I have flashed reflashed and returned to stock dozens of times same outcome each time just how can I spoof as 59 from 47 with 1.51 ???

please help somebody !!!!  somebody out there must have this info ?? and used this method  sad.gif
