question is how safe is using jungle flasher in windows? if I do manage to mess something up, I can still recover my benq or samsung by flashing the original firmware in dos(mtkflash and dosflash)? Ive been out of the scene for a while and dont really know how much things have progressed now a days.

Ok after reading this tread and a few other sites the past few days I think I am going to mod my Xbox. I have a BenQ drive so the process seems pretty easy with this software. Had a few questions for the people in this tread.
1. Do anyone have or know where to get a tutorial on backing up my originals so I can keep them in a safe place for resale? From what I have read these are going to have to be in 'stealth' mood. How do I ensure the files I create are in this?
2. If I don't want to take the time to backup my own games and was going to download games I have how do I ensure the ones download are in 'stealth' mood?
Anything else I should know or am missing?

If the sole purpose of modding your 360 is Piracy, then i suggest you look elsewhere. X-S has a zero tolerance when it comes to Piracy.

you are now in Suspended Mood........

What happens with the 17th digit of the dvdlabel? I mean, in my drive label that digit is "K", but when I dump it with the extractor and I check it with an hex editor, this digit is changed to "1". I've read that this digit may not be important, because it seemed to be 0 or 1 on all drives. Certainly it's not the case, as my drive has a K digit on it.

My question is if I should flash my drive using my digit (K) or the default (1) in the 1.51 ixtreme firmware. What should be safer in the future for no-banning purposes?

The rest of the dump data is correct (string serials, dvdkey, inquiry, etc)...

Word of advice to anyone looking to flash, most of the time trying to flash drives in Vista or 64bit operating systems is not worth the trouble, get a hold of XP 32bit, you don't even have to activate it and it should function for 30 days.
