I have firmware 1.41 on my BenQ DVD drive. I am gettng ready for firmware 1.6. Would I able to upgrade straight to firmware 1.6?

Is it good idea to restore the original firmware then upgrade to 1.6?

Is there a reason why you may need to go back to the original firmware?

As long as u have ur key etc..to inject into the 1.6 firmware, u can just flash over it. And no, no reason to ever go back.

If you don't have you're keys, just follow the same procedure when u originally flashed, just use the new firmware instead (obviously).

You are correct sir..... DVD key is really the only thing you need to worry about.. without that no games will play... make sure that when you dump.. you should at least save somewhere(its always best to... before you flash with your hacked.bin firmware to check it in firmware tools so you dont lose it in case of a bad read... it has happened and then they were boned hard.

How do you know the key for your drive?

I have still have the USB drive I used for flashing. I would imagine the key would have been saved onto the disc somewhere.

How do I extract the keys from the USB drive?

Is there a guide somwhere from flashing let's say iXtreme 1.4 to 1.5?
