Hey everybody!
I have a big problem reading my samsung ms25 drive key.
I've done it befor using iprep in dos, so i tried it again, but dosflash is not recognising my sammy drive (which is connectet to my via card, primary port .... ck3 pro). i can only use the iprep version 008.8 because when i run other versions of iprep i get an Exception error (YES i have netframework ^^).

So i tried a different method to read the drive key. WIth jungleflasher i unlocked the drive, got the drive info, everything looked fine. When i try to read the key, jungleflasher reads bank 1 then ... freezes ... (tried it several times) I HOPE MY SAMMY IS NOT BRICKED NOW?!
But i get always the correct drive infos ...

Then i used dosflash32, but i get an error while reading key.
Because reading and flashing the drive in windows is not very safe, i want to do it in dos, but I have no idea why dosflash is not detecting my drive.

PLS HELP, and tell me if my samsung is bricked or not?! Sad

Luckily sumsungs are almost impossible to brick..... What is the firmware you have on the drive right now?
is it an Ixtreme or above xtreme5.x? If so you have hit firmgaurd my friend some of the newer versions seem to still lock out even when trying to 10 second trick.... what you need to do is get on xbins(google easy xbins..... its the fastest way) then download under hacked firmware--->_old--->xtreme3.3.rar
Extract the UNLOCK 0800.iso and burn that to a single layer dvd..... This is disable firmguard allowing you to read and write to your banks. I found this out through searching for about 4 hours.... it was in plain sight.. lol... after about 10 hours of trying to flash... put it in.. shut down console... started it with disc already in and i could read and write(may require the 10 second trick if you are getting a 0x51 in dosflash)

And stick with Iprep... dosflash is the most intricate program for use with flashing as you can unbrick drives with it using the manual settings. its a wonder proggy.

P.s. if none of this works its time for manual settings(remember you will still need to follow instructions here but we will need to add all the manual commands which is advanced in a sense)
Post here if indeed its bricked, we will go from there

the original firmware, no hacked firmware!

do i still have to disable firmguard now?

Isn't jungle flasher doing the same thing? I mean, i said, when using jungle flasher i already unlocked it, but it didnt read the banks properly ...

I hope its not bricked! But i also cant test if its still working with original games, because at the moment i dont have a game here ...

hi,

about the 0800 disc, I used it to correct a ms25 which I was flash with the wrong key, but after the first flash it's already a "ms28" and thats the cause I needed 0800 disc.

I could do the first flash direct by dosflash16 and I've prepared the CFW by my hand.

Which parameters are you using with dosflash?

Ok again, I didn't flash the drive bevor, it should be ms25 and original firmware !
When i use dosflash (in automatic mode) i cant get my drive detected or listed.

When i boot up my pc, turn the switch from the ck3 to on, my pc freezes! NOT in windows but in dos or when booting my pc.

please help!

If it's freezing in dos don't turn it on until the windows loading bar has come up. Also if you haven't already I would recommend uninstalling the via drivers if your using jungleflasher because they seem to lock up my pc when I hook up a sammy to it.

1. dos is freezing when dosflash is listing the attached deviced (if drive is on from startup)
2. if i turn on the drive while navigating in dos, pc is also freezing

3. in windows, jungleflasher is freezing when i try to read the key, via driver installed or not, doesnt matter

i just tried a original xbox360 game, the drive is still working correctly, but i just CAN'T READ THE DRIVE KEY, doesnt matter what i try to do ...

pls help

Got it, something was wrong with the port, i used another primary port on my via, and it worked ...
