Spoofing a Benq drive with Toshiba-Samsung key

Hi all

Ok then so I am going to replace a console with a faulty Toshiba-Samsung DVD drive, with a Benq DVD drive.  Can anybody clarify if this is possible and if I'm going about it the correct way:

1. I have the faulty TS drive original firmware extracted.
2. I have the new Benq drive original firmware extracted.
3. Using Firmware Toolbox I load the Benq original firmware, copy the key from the TS drive into the Benq firmware, then spoof the Benq firmware into thinking it's a TS-H943.

Now I want to create hacked firmware from this but I'm not sure whether I should be using Benq or Toshiba-Samsung hacked firmware!?  Can anyone help please?

Cheers
Mark

Where is the benq from?

If it's a new "bought" drive, you can disregard the original fw.

You need to read the samsung.... get the original.bin

Load that original as source firmware, and load the ix1.5_benq.bin as your target firmware, and sppof the original into the benq 1.5.  Then write that firmware to the benq drive.

Try using JungleFlasher, should make it very simple.

Hi Proppo

Yes I bought it off Ebay and it is new, or at least it's meant to be!

Well I didn't realise that Jungleflasher did the spoofing for you, I shall give this a whirl, thanks for your help mate ;-)

JungleFlasher is an incredible program and can do almost everything (but hitachis, for now).
