I'm hoping that someone can provide a little clarification for me on this. I bought a pre-flashed Xbox 360. It's a Benq drive and it has iXtreme 1.5. I was not provided the key nor the original firmware. But, if I am understanding this correctly, I can follow a tutorial and extract the ix1.5 firmware that is currently on my 360, which will contain my key, and then use that to create the new ix1.51 firmware when it is released? Which program can be used extract the key from the firmware?

Oh dear this thread is being infected already
(sorry ImpactPlayer)

ImpactPlayer - yes you can obtain your key to inject into the new firmware when it is released

It's going to support everything. 1.51 is just adding support for the third wave.

The person who flashed my liteon gave me all the files including the key. When ix 1.51 comes out should i just put it on this BENQ i have laying around then i could use that for newer games and if anything else changes i could put my liteon back in. OR should i pull my liteon out of my 360 erase and reflash that and forget the BENQ.

So we going to see new additions to Xbox Backup Creator / Schtrom360 or are they still compatible when creating the backups?

I hope they add some heuristics behind the new video check code, since add a new CRC will probably only work until a new NXE revision surfaces.

Seconded.  Otherwise a whole new cat & mouse game starts, where each game has a different video partition CRC (just to stop iXtreme from booting it) and each game knows the CRC of its own video partition (to stop people replacing it).

Maybe better to check for presence of video partition (and its files - I presume the .VOBs, etc. are still there?) but not delve further into it?

Apologies for asking a redundant, and possibly, ignorant question. I did read all the previous posts, but I was still concerned that the advice was only applicable to lite-on drives, so I thought I should make sure. Thanks for the dispositive reply, modslave  smile.gif

This question was asked, but not answered, and I think it should be.

Does this require a change to the programming in Xbox Backup Creator to create backups of these 3rd wave discs?
