Apparently It will not work either as that will included the same code,

I see people are now saying that the games will have the new dash board written into the game themselves so that consoles that have been BANNED previous or just dont connect to live can benifit from it....

Here's hoping that it only a few days and not months that the new firmware is released  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Since there will need to be an update for this new wave, will 1.5 for the 79 drives be released and contain the 3rd wave update, or will it be released without and then 1.6 will be released with a 3rd wave update?

================================================================================
======================

      Video Partition Explanation
      ================================================================================
======================

When you put a 360 disk into a regular DVD player, a video plays telling you that you were dumb and put a 360 disk into a DVD player instead of an Xbox 360. This is what the "video partition" is. When the 360 first came out, all disks used the exact same video partition, then after a certain time, a different one was used. These are referred to as "wave 1" and "wave 2". If you rip an older game and scan it, you'll see it matches "known data, wave 1" and likewise, newer games will match known data for Wave 2. This looks to be a 3rd wave and, if true, is nothing to get upset about.

The FW you have all been using is labelled as "stealth". What this means, essentially, is that the custom firmware does some basic checks to the disk itself to make sure certain bits match and are accurate. Think of it as a small checklist to try and prevent you from getting banned. One of those checks is the video partition - until now, there's only been 2 different types so anything else would indicate bad stealth data. This is why the game doesn't boot, it's not Microsoft circumventing the custom firmware, but rather it's a failsafe deliberately built into the firmware to protect you.

It's too early to tell and I'm no expert, but assuming future games use this 3rd wave, all that is needed is a minor update to the custom firmware (and a reflash of your drive) in order to accommodate for this.

[17:48:28] <+c4eva> new video partition support in ix1.6 , coming soon!
[01:32:30] <+c4eva> topo:i did smile.gif
[01:33:11] <+c4eva> hello
[01:36:29] <+c4eva> finishing hitachi 1.5 this week, then 1.6 for all drives!
[01:37:52] <+c4eva> 1.6 will have 0800 dumping for all drives including hitachi along with new video partition support!
[01:38:35] <+c4eva> 0800 is in windows mode only
[05:17:14] <+c4eva> originals should be unaffected by the new video wave 3 on ixtreme fw
[05:18:30] <onge> c4eva: is it hard to fix this problem?
[05:18:40] <+c4eva> no

<@KarateBob> new games are coming out with the nxe update on the disc
<@KarateBob> and the only place microsoft could put it was in the video partition
<@KarateBob> now, old firmwares and games didnt always have a video partition, so when ixtreme was made, they got it to check the video partition
<@KarateBob> and if its crc didnt match wave 1 or wave 2, then the game wouldnt boot
<@KarateBob> now, this is wave 3, so ixtreme wont boot new games
<@KarateBob> if you need to boot the game, then wait for 1.6, or use a non-stealth firmware.
<@KarateBob> such as Benq_iXtreme_1.41_Rev_2_Non-Stealth_Multispeed.rar, C4EVA_XTRM-HITACHI_v2_4_Stealth.rar (im not sure if that works on 78/79) or xtreme53.rar in the xbins directory: /XBOX 360/firmware/hacked firmware/Toshiba-Samsung TS-H943/_old/
<@KarateBob> Sorry, there is no non-stealth firmware for Lite-On

so basically, in regards to MLB 2K9....we are SOL until new 1.6 firmware?.....

Isnt there any way to repack MLB 2k9 for current Ixtreme 1.5 FW to run correctly?....at least as a temp solution until 1.6 FW is fully released??

the question is whats the risk of downgrading to 1.4 non steatlh and running mlb2k9?  by understanding is there shouldn't be any because techinically there is nothing wrong with the game right?  it just uses a different video parition that the 1.5 is currently stopping b/c it is not aware of it.

So should I feel at ease running mlb 2k9?  don't want to be flagged

Yes, you're SOL untill a new firmware is released any new game with this Video Partition will be unable to boot on any "stealth" firmware.

You could extract the video from an older game, inject it into MLB using abgx, but I'm guessing you'd be banned relatively quick. DO NOT DO THIS

Here's hoping this will all be over with soon.
By the way H.A.W.X. has this same problem I can only play it on my non-modded machine.

So even if I insert the original Hawk or MLB 2K9 into my unit with the Ixtreme 1.5 FW, it will not run??

Post #18 says:

So it would appear there is a contradiction?

I hope they add some heuristics behind the new video check code, since add a new CRC will probably only work until a new NXE revision surfaces.

when IX 1.6 is released, will it be necessary to flash a IX 1.5 lite-on back to stock firmware, and then up to 1.6, or will we be able to upgrade directly to IX 1.6?

There's no stock fw to flash on lite-on. Hopefully you'll only have to erase and flash the new 1.6
