Problem Restoring Origional Firmware Samsung Ms25
« on: February 26, 2009, 07:07:00 AM »

Hello,

I flashed my Samsung MS25 drive using Iprep V00.8.8 and IXtreme 1.5 firmware. I followed this video tutorial: http://www.klutsh.com/page.php?5

Everything went exactly the same as in the tutorial, No errors whatsoever. But when I inserted a original 360 game the Xbox couldn’t read it and it sad I had to put the disk in a 360…Strange… I tried multiply games but with every game It sad I had to put it in a 360. Then I tried a backup game that normally works with my Hatachi drive, but I could read it. First it say: Reading… and than  open tray… Like there is nothing in it. Bad flash?

Well I made a backup of my original firmware so I thought I could just put the old firmware back on the drive. So I renamed my original firmware to “SamCFW” and replaced the Old ”SamCFW”(Cracked firmware) With the new “SamCFW” (Original firmware) and tried flashing it.

But the MTKflash wouldn’t recognize my drive, I did some researches and found out about the Firmguard…  So I got a DL-DVD+R And burned this file to the disk:

http://www.360mods.net/index.php?name=Down...tails&id=69

using IMG-Burn with user specified layerbreak: 1913760

Well, Then I tried to flash my drive again. But still no recognition.

This is what MTKflash says:

When type:    Fsam ####### ##### (serial)   enter

MTKvendor Intro failed on port 0xFD00
Flash type: MTK vendor intro failed!
      Flash size: 0 bytes
      Command until drive response? (Y/N)

Then I het Y And it says:

Status: 0x51 (Found put that it needs 0x70, but I can’t get it)

So I het esc. To abort the recognition process, And then it gives a list of devices found. And my Samsung MS25 is in the list, Listed as a Samsung MS28. As number 1).

So I enter number 1 as the number of the drive  enter
Than W for write and then it says:

   Unknown Flash Chip!

And then it goes back to the command prompt.

I also tried different methods with that 0800 disk:

1: Power Pc Wait until Dos Promptpower 360insert diskwait until disk is finishedeject diskSata to pcRun MTK flash  …  Doesn’t work!
2: Power 360power pcwait until Dos Prompt insert diskwait until disk is finished eject diskRun MTK flash   …   Doesn’t work!

3: Power Pc Wait until Dos Prompt insert diskwait until disk is finishedeject disk Run MTK flashDrive not recognizedEsc Run MTK flashwhen it’s searching for drives turn of 360 wait 10sec.  power 360 Detect  …   Doesn’t work!

4: Power 360insert diskwait until disk is finished eject disk power pcwait until Dos Prompt Run MTK flash   …   Doesn’t work!

5: insert disk Power 360 wait until disk is finished eject disk power pcwait until Dos Prompt Run MTK flash   …   Doesn’t work!

I also checked if my Sata setting where correct, and they were. RAID is NOT enabled.
And between different tries I used a game to erase the 0800 disk mode.

So I’m really stuck here, Does anybody know any different ways to  get my drive back to Original firmware. With the 0800 disk or any other methods

Thanks in advance,
Kind Regard.

IPREP , O800 DISC old methods  , I use jungleflasher thats the way to go for flashing , toolbox 4.8 is handy for looking at and altering firmware, because you have flashed your ms25 its now acting like a ms28 you have two options , if you think that have original firmware first make plenty of copies of it then put it in jungleflasher and flash back the original, or download a unmolested ms25 firmware with no key in it , use toolbox 4.8 to find your key then copy it into your blank ms25 firmware then flash that with jungleflasher.
