Cannot Detect Benq

ok, so I hooked up via sata and powered thru console. I followed a tut that advised to eject the tray then return the tray but hold it open half way, then power it off leaving the tray half open. Prior to doing this the drive was detected in windows and dos. After doing this now the drive is not detected anywhere. It also does not eject anymore.

I've tried everything I can think of:
-powered it up thru a different console,
-switched all cables,
-used via sata card,
-onboard sata,
-another pc,
-disabled other drives,
-dosflash, iprep, jf....
-benq unlock
-mtkflash

I don't understand how it was detected before doing the tray thing, and now nothing. Is there some sort of internal lockup in the drive?

I did a liteon and managed to flash it, but this benq is driving me crazy!

No matter what I do I can not get the drive detected anywhere. Is the drive fried? I'm at my wits end on this - after a week of trying to get this thing detected. Any one know what I can do to get this readable. At this point I would be happy if I could just get the key off of it. Please help..

For BENQ, the magic28 command works.  You don't have to eject tray or push it half way, you can do it in DOS in 10 minutes.  Check out the tutorial here:  http://www.tiaowiki.com/w/Flash_BENQ_DVD_Drive
