Benq Good And Bad Serials
« on: February 22, 2009, 01:45:00 PM »

okay I have done a dozen benq's and this time firmware read in iprep is taking a while.  I always do several reads to compare serials.  every one of the reads was slow, I am used to maybe 4 seconds per bank, but is was taking maybe 15-20 seconds per bank.  every read comes in with an error.

So back in windows I checked out the info in firmware toolbox.  Everyone of the OFW files seem to have a good serial, and they all match

but with the CFW files the serials are all bad

I usually have a samsung or 2 a benq, and a lite-on on hand.  To test when I am unsure of something
So that I do not brick a console

unfortunately all I have right now are lite-ons, and toolbox doesn't yet support lite-on firmwares

So has anybody experienced this?

It also seems to have been swapped in by gamestop

since the firmware was spoofed to begin with (is this the reason for the serial problem?)

any thoughts I would like to hear guys

360 Firmware toolbox doesnt check the serial, nor does it copy it.  The app is outdated and shouldnt be used.  Use JungleFlasher for viewing/altering fw in windows.
