ok well i managed to get it into modeb on my silicon image chipset ( the one on my mobo) and i get past playing the audio file and it unlocks correctly. When i go to use firmware toolbox i put a game/dvd in and it will spin and spin and spin but once i click raw dump it stops spinning and says cannot read from drive.

I have also tried putting it into modeb on my silicon image then shutting down the pc plugging it into my via and then turing it back on. windows wont recognize the drive and when i take a peak at msinfo32 it says error under status. I have correct driviers installed and the card works b/c i just flashed an ms28 with it.

This situation is killing me im just confused since the exact same card works in another computer.

Also still havent been able to get hold of that comp that the via card works in so im still looking for a solution.

I don't know if this will help but I have the 79fk and I used the slax 2.1 disc and it worked everytime I needed it to.  I also used the "open disc tray then close it but before it closes unplug the power to it trick".  That also worked a couple of times.  I don't know if this will help but it is worth a shot.  I almost forgot.  Mine would not unlock unless I hit enter when the slax 2.1 program got to the end of it loading and it just sits there.  Hit enter then try the drive and see if it is in mode b.  If it is just restart your comp with it still powered on and boot windows.  Windows should see it then.
