How To Flash Back Original Firmware With Iprep
« on: February 12, 2009, 10:17:00 PM »

Hi, I used iprep to flash my benq drive. I am sending it to microsoft for repair. I understand that iprep made a backup copy of my original benq drive firmware, and i was able to find it (BENQ-OFW.bin). My question is how would i use iprep again to flash back this original firmware to my benq drive?

Put BENQ-OFW.bin in the same dir as Dosflash.exe, and use that instead.

Iprep is a frontend for these apps after all.

c:\Dosflash

enter the number of the drive.

W for write.

type the name of the file, BENQ-OFW.bin

| Done |

wait, i don't get it. i use the iprep program to make the bootable flash drive and i follow the textbook2008 guide to type in some commands in dos mode to flash my benq drive, so that's as far as i know what to do. can you explain it in more detail please.

1)before i use iprep to make flash drive(choose ixtreme customer firmware, then click on "prepare destination" to make the flash drive), then boot into dos, then type
2) dBen 1234567 12345 follow the steps then
3) fBen 1234567 12345 etc. etc.

right now i assume when i make the flash drive with iprep i choose BENQ-OFW.bin instead of the ixtreme fireware when i load the firmware right? or are there more things i need to do.

Sounds like you may have used the older version of iprep because the newer version does not use the "-" with the file name.  So to restore to original firmware you would use the rben 1234567 12345

That will flash the benq back to original.

I'm surprised people have attempted to help you out with your issue after you stated your intent of fraud.
