Cellphone Data Cable
« Reply #225 on: October 28, 2009, 08:29:00 PM »

Just an FYI: Those that get the DKU-5 Cable with the rubber casing around the USB end and the hard case/epoxy underneath, try the blue wire. I just was able to get my Lite-on's key with it.

I thank all those that put this idea together. You've saved me spending more money as I just happened to have the DKU-5 cable from an old phone I had some years ago.

Hi, I was looking for some help with a dku-5 cable I just purchased.  eBay link:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280410342400&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

I opened it up and there arent any regular labels, they all say r#

There are 3 wires attached to the board, white, black, and blue.  the white wire goes into point r12, the blue goes into one near the end towards the wire (not usb) and the black one is a little bit more towards the usb.  When i use realterm, I get the rxd to light up when i put my finger on the black and blue wire together.

Was lookin for a little help on how to figure out which wire to connect to the needle

Thanks

edit: actually the above post is what I needed I think, I'll try that out.

Images of my cable PCB are LARGE:

As you can see, my RX wire is blue and is the one i connect to the Xbox. Yours might be a different color.

do i need any other drivers for the wire itself?

which program do u think is the best choice Realterm, hyper terminal, or the other one i cant think of  ???

Just connect RX and TX wire then open hyperterm and type something random and send it, you should receive an identical message back.

Again to sum this 20 page topic up. All you need to dump the lite-on 74xxx key is the following:

1> Running Windows XP.

2> Buy this CABLE:

3> DRIVER
CODE

4> A safety pin.

When you get your cable, cut the connector off that connects to the phone..Cut the outer black plastic about 5cm and cut the blue and green wires off. You don't need them. Only need the white one for this specific make and model from this seller.

Strip the wire and wrap it around the safety pin and you done. Install the driver, plug the cable in and dump away biggrin.gif

Yeah it doesn't look fancy but it works. Once you got it working you can make it look pretty. Hope it helps  love.gif

I got the exact same calbe but I cant seem to get it to work....

In RealTerm which i never used before when connected it shows BREAK as red, should it do that? I cant seem to get any RX on it just TX flashing yellow....

Any help you can offer?

any solution to this problem? i have a ca-42 cable with 5 wires ... white, orange, green, blue, black, the pcb doesnt have numbering for rx ... i also get BREAK in realterm and hyperterminal says that it cannot open the port. tried all combos of wires twisted in realterm but no use sad.gif ... even took a gamble and tried to extract the key using the green wire but jungleflasher gave me the bad serial data error sad.gif

Don't know how to resolve that problem, with the BREAK thing that is. Either way, randomly connecting the wires is not that good of a move, its likely to damage your cable and/or USB port, because one of the wires may contain USB voltage.

What you can do is check the PCB on the cable, trace the leads to the chip that has a name and modell written on it, look it up on google and see if you can find which of its legs is RX. Then trace that leg to the correct wire.

its a generic looking pcb (one of those knockoff cables i think, still cost me 8 bucks) with gt50727 written on it, the two chips themselves have nothing written on them sad.gif

This cable works you just need to rewire it. at the three pins on the bottom the one on the left side is the one you should be using IPB Image
