360 Modification Disc V1.5 By Frostythesnowman
« on: February 04, 2009, 03:16:00 AM »

Hi guys quick question for you 360 gurus.

I am no noob to the scene so please dont treat me like one, I have been around in and out of the scene since the bert and ernie font hacks for the xbox 1 and like to think I have done my fair share of helping people over the years in the scene.
I used to have a 360 when they first came out and flashed it when the first ixtreme firmware was released but too many RROD has put me off the 360 (I went through 4 machines in the end) I am sad to say. One of my mates picked up a 360 the other week and has asked me to flash it, I am guessing it is a lite-on drive seen as it is quite recently brought from game, I know the procedure of flashing a drive and have a VIA VT6421 PCI SATA card and all the files needed to dump then flash firmware.
So my question is.....I have come across the 360 Modification Disc v1.5 by FrostyTheSnowman, is this disc any good ? Does it have any issues with the new lite-on drives, even though it does say that it supports it in the NFO and has no mention of any issues with the lite-on ?

Thanks for any replys  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

If you not a n00b then why bother with that CD? Just follow the same methods everyone else uses, they simpler enough  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

It doesn't sound like you've used the disc yet  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) .  I used it on 2 Benq's and was very pleased with how easy it made the process.  Now, I'm wondering about the Lite-On's also.  The modification disc has an option for com ports with the lite-on.  Are these required, or is this for people who took 'other' methods to modify the Lite-On?

it wants to write the OFW to the 1st HDD, it mustn't be able to access it.
It's necessary to complete the process.

So what the easy remedy for this problem cause I'm in the mist of the samething. Is my problem that I am using Vista64? Or do I need to change something in the CMOS? My hdd is currently set as Native IDE. There are two other settings, but Frosty said something about needing it to be IDE compatable
